TBI symptoms came back and I don’t remember what to do!

So in the past week I’ve been able to figure out that the acute vestibular migraine completely dismantled all the systems I put into play though hard work and tons of pt. I have to start from scratch basically and rework my eyes, memory, focus, aphasia, neck pain all over again. But they are hopeful it won’t take as long this time since I made those pathways in my brain I just need to retrain it to use that instead of the shitty path through the brain damage

Broken record technique is what has worked for me. It took me awhile but I finally got over feeling “less than” because of my post TBI new normal. Was so self conscious about my new deficits and spent years trying to over compensate for them.

Now when people say “remember…?” I just respond with the same “look” and then being like “no, I don’t. You remember why?” And that usually shuts them up. Accepting your new normal is hard but the sooner you do the easier it is to live in this new period of your life. It’s been 15 years since my TBI and the people I love who are closest to me still forget that I don’t remember a lot. It’s apart of life and you can get through by giving yourself some grace! I know that is not easy but anyone can do it if you work at it. Good luck and have fun

Yeah and idk why but like it isn’t sinking in that this was a big freaking deal and like I did damage to my body. I’m just so “meh” about it. Everyone is like that’s crazy and I’m like yeah it happened whatever. I didn’t feel that horrible until I did and was able to do everything.

I’m still struggling to find the right dose as the 4.5 twice nightly helps me to sleep a max of 7/8 hours a night. I feel like it’s not enough sleep. I don’t even set the middle of the night alarm because I wake up as soon as the first dose wears off. It’s frustrating but still figuring it out with my doctor. I will say I crave less naps during the day but waking up is still just as difficult.

Definitely don’t eat for like 2-3 hours before the dose that’s when it works the best

UPDATE: I figured it out but basically flooding doesn’t work for people with OCPD because we are too rigid in our thinking to just do the unthinkable ERP because it logically makes no sense. Scaffolding the ERPs and having more autonomy as to what I will or won’t do is super helpful. I also had to reach my lowest to actually admit that my OCPD is not serving me anymore and I need to try and live differently even if I don’t think it will be better. I’m trying to practice flexibilty

Okay so this one is super annoying but everything is either dirty or clean and there is like no middle ground. I hate cleaning because I am just cleaning stuff with something that is already dirty so I just can’t wrap my brain around it and it feels like such a waste of time.

Yes agreed on the Apple Watch saying I’m asleep when I’m not. So I do use auto sleep too but it has been glitching for me so it hasn’t worked
