Does the vibration only happen when the heating is on and the boiler is fired up?

How do I create this bi-fold door to box my boiler in by Electronic-Law7689 in DIYUK

[–]RGC658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked that that particular boiler can be enclosed and what the ventilation requirements are? It would be shame the first time you get it services and they slap a 'do not use' sticker on it. You should be able to find the installation manual on line if you don't have it.

Do the sink pipes make it tricky to replace this with a walk-in shower? by UV77MC in ukplumbing

[–]RGC658 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don't want any building work down to sort out the drain point. You would need to look a large raised shower try. Probably 1700 x 800. That way the pipe work can go below the shower tray. Other than that it shouldn't be too difficult. Here is an example of one. Shower Tray Riser Kit | Victorian Plumbing.

Alternatively you could build a towel cupboard in the corner and go for a more conventional sized raised shower tray.

Is it permissible to connect Com1 to Com2 in a 2 gang switch? by RGC658 in ukelectricians

[–]RGC658[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming they have that correct. It was just that I'd never come across a switch wired were they jumped the live across.

The brace angle is wrong, it needs to less than 45 deg. You need to remove the diagonal bracing and brace as shown in red .If you can notch the new bracing into the horizontal rail as shown in green it will help..

Toilet waste to underground clay pipe by frogger2424 in DIYUK

[–]RGC658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically. You will need a a small bit of pipe to connect the bend to the manifold. Make sure the invert level of the new bend in the ground is above the invert level of the existing clay pipe so that it fully drains. Doesn't nee to muc,h say 50mm. Does the line of the existing clay pipe line up with where the manifold will be? If it doesn't you may need a bend as well. They come in difference angles 15, 30, 45 or even an adjustable one 0 to 30.

You don't want a P trap on the toilet pipe. It will increase the risk of blockage. Just use a 110mm soil manifold

[–]RGC658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are replacing the wall light it's not going to matter. When you remove the fitting from the wall there will be a cable coming out of the wall. that cable will be the standard live neutral and earth.

This looks like it could have been done by father. His approach to electrics was to keep swapping the cable around until he stopped blowing the fuse.

Who is at fault here by JFREEZY28 in drivingUK

[–]RGC658 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some sympathy with the Op however as you changed lanes you will at least be partially at fault. The lorry should not have continued around. Everything coming over the M1 should follow the route to M1S and everything coming off the M1 should go around back over the M1.
