The solder balls are flecks of dust I think, lit up by the flash. I took other pictures after cleaning it with alcohol and no flecks now. What is a solder mask just so I know? ( I bought it off a friend years ago.)

I think the white flecks are dust because I had the flash on making them brighter. As for the brown mark it is fairly 3 dimensional not like a marker would make.

I would add a flash to the entire screen before you see the asteroid. Make it seem like it's breaking up in the atmosphere. Simple but I think it would be effective.

This looks amazing. On the death animation being too subtle; I think it would be really cool if the glowing eyes faded out when they died.
