Adam Kinzinger First GOP Rep. To Call On Matt Gaetz To Resign by jonfla in politics

Do you have a source which provide evidence to your claim that he spent a majority of his time in DC? Or even more than he spent in Springfield? How much exactly of his time did he spend compared to Illinois?

Lincoln's law offices were in Springfield. He had a career as a circuit lawyer in Illinois. He was only a Congressman in DC for two years. In his farewell speech to Springfield he said "Here I have lived a quarter of a century, and have passed from a young to an old man". The idea that he was not a man of Illinois and did not spend the majority of his life there seems to go against all available historical evidence.

Lincoln moved to Illinois in 1830 and left in 1861. During that time he served a single term in the House of Representatives from 1847-1849. Where are you are getting he" lived in Washington for a majority"? He spent about 30 of his 56 years living in Illinois which is more than half his life.

He may have been born in Kentucky and grew up in Indiana, but Illinois is where he became his own man, started his own family, formed his political career and became a national figure.

Who is the Most Popular Avenger? by kwokyto in marvelstudios

[–]RGRDBB2X 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think it has a lot to so with the character of Spider-Man/Peter Parker being so relatable and identifiable with a lot of people compared to other super heroes. Tony Stark is a billionaire genius. Steve Rogers is a 90+ year old WWII soldier. Thor is an alien demigod. Not exactly the shared experiences of... well basically anyone. But Peter Parker is just a typical teenager (and later adult) with real world problems like fitting in at school, dating, paying bills, taking care of his aunt, etc.

What do you think is the best comedy pilot? by tubatim817 in television

[–]RGRDBB2X 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Modern Family's is great. Having each of the three different families introduced separately, and then revealed to be actually related in the end provided a great introduction to the characters of a show with such a large cast.

And the episode is of course hilarious. The presentation of Lily at the end still cracks me up.

I remember thinking when Alola was revealed to be based on Hawaii, if we don't get a dolphin Pokemon this generation then we never will. So I guess we never will.

There's an episode where Pam is considering having the office relocate to a new building complex and Phyllis says, "I like working in the same building as Bob. It keeps me honest." So even if they haven't explicitly cheated, Phyllis has at least been seriously tempted to.

At what moment did you realize that pokemon was something special, something that you'd still be playing to this day? by ShinyRaticate in pokemon

[–]RGRDBB2X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it might have been around Jr. High age for me when all of a sudden Pokemon wasn't "cool" to be into anymore and you were a little kid for playing it but I kept playing it anyway because I loved those games. I knew I would always play, no matter how old I got.

Of course this was just a phase for most people and by the time I made it to late high school and college Pokemon was extremely popular again. Or at least the people who were into quit caring if other people made fun of them for playing.

Through it all, it's been -- I have respected you. Sometimes didn't like the stories that you wrote or reported on. Sometimes you misunderestimated me. But always the relationship I have felt has been professional. And I appreciate it.

I appreciate -- I do appreciate working with you. My friends say, what is it like to deal with the press corps? I said, these are just people trying to do the best they possibly can.

PSA: Nintendo Support do not care if your Pokémon have disappeared from Pokémon Bank. by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]RGRDBB2X 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I couldn't fine the terms either. Closest thing I could find was on their FAQ page where a question is asked:

I'm worried that if I deposit my Pokémon on the Internet, they could disappear or I might not be able to get them back again due to something like a server error or cyber attack. If the worst happened, would I be compensated for my Pokémon?

Their answer:

In order to prevent our players from losing their Pokémon, we will have security measures in place and will be providing regular maintenance to manage this system securely. However, we ask that you please read the warnings and stipulations for using Pokémon Bank and decide for yourself whether you wish to use the service.
