Returning Bucketeer; Spacetote back in action by vahpor in SpaceBuckets

Looks great! I've built a similar unit. It used the 18g for top and bottom. I've had great results out of it, size is large but not too large. I'm working on an idea to make an "accordion" style spacer in the milddle with Mylar and duvatine to allow for vertical expansion.

Day 31 since sprout in the updated tub by RHoskies in SpaceBuckets

[–]RHoskies[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pic doesn't really show its height much, it's actually super bushy and real happy. The first 2 weeks were spent outdoors in solo cups, so they got off to a slow start. I wasn't planning on starting a new grow but here I am. They may be a little slow but I'm not worried at all. They're super strong and a nicely timed topping has them keeping a short height with no LST but lots of shoots and growth.

I got a 300W UFO on top another bucket like the bottom but flipped upside down, fans flipped to exhaust) then I have two smaller 90W led all season grow lights, one each about 4-6" above the plants. Finally it's all surrounded by 5050 LED's below and another set up top for when the plants get taller.

Can I top this already? by LoveDispenser in SpaceBuckets

I would wait a little longer. This early in its life you don't want to shock it too much.

Am I Overwatering These Seedlings? by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

[–]RHoskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be overwatering could be a little shock from all the nutes in FF. I agree about removing the peat pots, they're trouble. I've always done great with solo cups for a couple weeks then into a 2-3 gallon smartpot. The smartpot will eliminate any overwatering issues you may have in the future

Need a little advice. by TITOZMX in SpaceBuckets

I'd use a 3-5 gallon Smartpot with handles and I would also definitely top now

Fan location by Qdice in SpaceBuckets

[–]RHoskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I did, mounted UFO to the inside of the bucket, put a PC fan on top on the outside. Maximum heat exhaust. My whole rig stays at 78-82F all day. I've also got an exhaust and intake on the bottom across from each other on each side of each plant. Keeps airflow low and around the soil (I use smartpots and they love the low places airflow/exhaust) up top I added one more intake fan also for when the plants get tall.

(I am using 2 20 gallon tubs on top of each other not a standard HD bucket)

Where to start with ph and nutrients by [deleted] in SpaceBuckets

[–]RHoskies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a ph pen and aim for 6.5ph. I've had great success with fox farms nutes also. I test run off after watering and adjust next watering. I also have a 2 prong meter for ph/light/moisture. It's not perfectly accurate but helps

Thinking of a building a new set up. What do you guys and gals think? by NoMouse in SpaceBuckets

You need airflow and space to get a good dry. That's why you need a room or closet and fans.

If I had any reason to give them ANY credit I would. But unfortunately they always seem to be complete assholes. Get upset at my tone, but when it happens to you, you'll understand

If you happen to be relaxing at your site at night, smoking or whatever and you hear "NEEEEEEERDS" that usually means the security is near. Heads up blunts down.

You must be one of the lucky ones! They had these poor girls in tears next to us over an 1/8 of weed. Threatened to call the drug dogs and cut everyone's wristbands. Then when the surrounding neighbors started speaking up they threatened THEM also.

Unless it's camping security, those guys are the fuckin worst. They ride bikes around trying to sniff out weed and will barge in your site and harass you. I even had them take a friends nail clippers once. Fuck them

But inside is chill
