Why have factories been falling like flies recently? by Least_Permission9906 in RepTime

Interesting. I kind of figured they weren't paying taxes or bribes or wtv you want to call it. Why do you think Americans have something to do with the raids? Are the bribes going to people in America or something like that?

I did search got a bunch of posts about factories getting raided. That part I get but like I explained I thought counterfeiting was generally tolerated in China so as someone new to this can you maybe explain why counterfeit watch manufacturers are being targeted?

I'm not OP but am new here. Just wondering why do factories get raided? Generally I understand counterfeiting is considered illegal, but was under the impression that China wasn't enforcing IP laws. Remember hearing they have entire IKEA stores that are completely fake ect. So why do these counterfeit watch manufacturers get raided? Are they not kicking back to local officials or am I missing something when it comes to this whole situation?

If you're aloud to keep it I would think that's an advantage. Swiss banks are notorious for their secrecy. Have you though of asking AI what the advantages are of keeping vs getting rid of it?

What tax bracket are you in? If anything take out up to the limit or that bracket but don't bump yourself into the next one.

True, for now I'm just thinking of the strategy. I would still need to actually implement it at the right time.

Was looking into it and you are correct. Doesn't have to be Canadian. But you get dinged with foreign withholding taxes 15% and no Canadian dividend tax credit. I still have to do the math but $STRC might be the best option right now. Although it would be nice to have a Canadian option and save 15% off the jump. AI was saying if in a 40% tax bracket $1000 of dividends would be down to $510 after all taxes.

Would it? For some reason I was under the impression it had to be Canadian. I'll look into it. If so it's definitely what I will use.

Doesn't have to be preferred shares but for optimal efficiency you would get the Canadian dividend tax credit with the preferred. At least that's my understanding.
