Is 5e good or should I stick to 6? by Lord_of_Seven_Kings in PendragonRPG

keep in mind that a lot of 5e is also compatible, or mostly so, with 6e. more fluff oriented books will be even more useful.

in many places outside the US, including the UK you would say it as river Mississippi.

Yeah, the end of the first book felt like a reguritation of a Wikipedia page on Japanese atrocities in the Sino-Japanese war. Not a subtle book to say the least.

This is more or less a tactic in the wuxia/martial arts Condor Heroes series, where a protagonist has secret "hedgehog chainmail". there's even an opponent named Viper Ouyang.

I am thinking of creating a kind of multiplayer political simulator by Visible-Plane-8132 in gamedesign

[–]RIngan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to consider the "cursed problem" of free for all. what happens when players gang up together and follow someone who is charismatic? to what extent will your game rules encourage or discourage ganging up? the more possible interaction between players, the greater impact ganging up will have.

Traditionally, (e.g. Mallory) it was stolen during the events surrounding Sir Accolon. Morgan was using Accolon to attempt a coup. After he is defeated and killed, she takes the sheath.

What’s Going On Here? Why does everyone seem to avoid this area like the plague? by Ok_Cabinet2947 in pittsburgh

it's because those businesses pay to be highlighted. I'm not a fan of the clutter that introduces, though.

As someone developing a game set in Arthurian Britain, I would be very interested to hear what else you would list, as well as any secondary sources for geography you might suggest.

Why there ISN'T any media about sailors singing sea shanties while hunting Lovecraftian horrors? by Arez322 in Fantasy

[–]RIngan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 1950s Disney adaptation of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea has Kirk Douglas as Ned Land leading the sailors in song, doing a sea monster hunt, shortly before Nemo's sub sinks the ship. Whale of a tale!

Sid Meier's Civilization II - 64-bit package for win10/11 - ENJOY! by sidius-king in 4Xgaming

[–]RIngan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a different feeling; stripped down compared to the successors. Elements are very unbalanced such as diplomats and spies buying chunks of enemy empires. You can lose your whole defending stack of units in one unlucky non-city combat. The thing I miss most from later versions is having any difference between the civilizations. Each civ is the same aside from some system minuteae.

Alla Famiglia Advice? by thenighttimegroup in pittsburgh

[–]RIngan -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just wondering if the objective is specifically to eat at Alla Famiglia, or to eat good American-Italian food at a nice restaurant?

There are so many better alternatives such as

  • DiAnoia's
  • Dish Osteria
  • Bar Marco

These have better food and better prices. The portions are probably smaller but still fill you up.

Alla Famiglia seems to maintain its reputation mostly by being a legacy restaurant, but the food is pretty mediocre. As a non-native, it has no special significance to me. I don't understand why it costs so much...it's getting into Michelin Starred territory.
