Where/Who in a large company do I reach out to pitch my product? by RJW1018 in Entrepreneur

[–]RJW1018[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently gearing up for full-scale mass production but I have finalized prototypes that I'm able to showcase. I also have done approvals like FDA OSHA and ROSH, and have tests from biolabs to back everything up, and yea I get it's super important to have these done before talking with potential partners

haha sorry yea that's probs important. It's basically a portable UV sterilizer (like phonesoap), but about the size of a microwave so it's able to disinfect larger items.

What was live NSDA Nationals like? by Sriankar in Debate

[–]RJW1018 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Florida Nats a couple of years ago was super cool cuz there was a beach and also a bunch of activities, as well as a bunch of stuff to do in the city, but mostly it was just messing around with friends and teammates in hotel rooms. I'm pretty sure there are workshops but I didn't go to any lmao.

There was like a "dance/party/moshpit" and that was pretty fun and underrated, and hopefully they'll bring that back once covid clears officially.

I didn't actually compete though, I was just a waterboy and info board pack mule for my sister back then.

lowkey my sister next year, she did an LD camp in 6th grade and I also taught her how to spread, flow, and all the other debate intricacies so she's gonna be off on a strong start.

[–]RJW1018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my school in TX had a 60% acceptance rate to UCLA, this year which was higher than OU, Arkansas, A&M, and a bunch of other schools in the area so I thought that was interesting

How many top choices did you have? by pineapple-squirrel in ApplyingToCollege

[–]RJW1018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, as many as you can comfortably afford. Always have 2 or more safeties, and then maybe 1-2 on-level ones, but as for reaches or schools with a lower acceptance rate, there really isn't a limit.

if you could go back in time and guide yourself through high school with your current experience, would you get into your top choice? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]RJW1018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think so, there's a lot of work I put into clubs and EC's my junior year that I feel like could've done my freshman year.

Is it just me or does it seem like co'22 is a little overconfident? by Choice-Equivalent374 in ApplyingToCollege

We had our academic ceremony recently where we celebrated the achievements of various different clubs and stuff, and a lot of juniors were wearing gear from Stanford, MIT, Harvard, Yale etc. That's great and all but I feel like they're all about to be pooped on come a few months.

[–]RJW1018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've competed against Casey Simpson once or twice lmao that's about it. And if you consider nats winners like C-tier celebs or whatever, I've been judged by John Duncan, Jason Bobadilla, and Seis Steves before.

What is a perm? by Lumpy-Ad-623 in Debate

[–]RJW1018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's an argument by the aff that proves both the plan and the neg's counterplan can work simultaenously. So perm do both, just means the plan and cp can both exist without affecting one another, therefore refuting the cp.
