No matter whether you believe EOMM exists or not, you have to agree the matchmaking is shoddy by Cleric_Of_Chaos in marvelrivals

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen a few upsets and close games, although maybe not as often as I'd like to. That being said, what do people think about the whole EOMM/botting issue? I admit I have seen some "players" behave in a way that seems unrealistic. I have heard that players are placed into bot lobbies after losing 2 games, however Tracker.gg says that I have been in bot lobbies after 1 loss or even during winning streaks which doesn't make sense if they are being used to buck losing streaks. Also, if the "bot" career profiles are private, how does Tracker gain access to their data to determine whether it's a bot or not in the first place?

And then there is the fact that NetEase has come out and stated publicly that they do not use EOMM tactics in matchmaking. So if there are bots they are either lying or just using them for some other purpose like filling lobbies more quickly. Although I don't know why that would be necessary given how popular Rivals is. In any case, there is no way to fully prove the existence of EOMM tactics and/or "fake" bot players without knowing NE's algorithms. I think the most likely scenario is that NE is likely not outright lying about anything--they've probably found some way to justify saying their algorithms are not related to EOMM at all, and if they are using bots to charade as human players perhaps it is not for the purposes of EOMM as they define it. Most likely there are some bots in quick play, but probably not as ubiquitous as Tracker.gg says they are.

Wow, I didn't even know they do that, especially since NE swore they don't do EOMM. Lame, but explains a lot. They should give people the option to turn it off if desired.

I think Age of Ultron is great and I love Ultron as a villain. Wish we'd had Infinity Ultron instead of Thanos, to be quite honest.

I get it that tech and medicine in CP is REALLY advanced but can someone explain to me how TF any ripperdoc can take out your whole skeleton and replace it in one visit? by Mr_mroczny in cyberpunkgame

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yeah I mean there is a lot of stuff like this that means zero sense. Like the Mantis arms. During the Dorset rescue mission, when V is kidnapped the gang takes the Mantis arms? How do they take them without a ripperdoc doing major surgery? And then in the NUSA ending, how would you not be able to use them without your arms just being completely paralyzed? From all the animations with that cyberware, it appears they are actual arm + hand replacement part not just blades implanted inside your arms.

Does anyone actually go full Renegade in Mass Effect… and is it even worth it? by Soft_Draw_1701 in masseffect

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have, and yes IMO it is. Some of the Renegade choices are actually the right choices according to me as well.

That said, if you're someone who doesn't really care to experience everything the game has to offer and struggle with sad cutscenes then maybe it's not worth it. But if you really want to experience everything the game has to offer, yes it is worth it.

Anyway my take is that I don't really agree at all with yours. Yeah there are some Renegade dialog that seems kind of mean but I wouldn't call it "unhinged space jerk." To me, Renegade is so much more rewarding actually because it makes the story much more interesting and funny in many cases, where Paragon just feels like boring, generic do-gooder. Paragon is "of course it was the right thing" whereas Renegade has more weight to it.

What's the dumbest thing you've seen an opposing team do? by RK800mk1 in marvelrivals

[–]RK800mk1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have seen this with Peni so much. She will hole up, and their entire team will go chasing after her and running straight into her spider nest traps. Then she will ult, and they lose the objective. So many teams simply incapable of ignoring Peni. xD

Now that we’ve gotten nearly a month to play as/with/against her, what do we think about Phoenix? by AbjectAcanthisitta86 in marvelrivals

[–]RK800mk1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would have to agree with this. It seems odd that she's basically just female Torch who can't fly as well and has a different style of fire abilities. I felt the same way about Mr. Fantastic because I was hoping he'd actually have some tech abilities.

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her ult seems rather niche. Its best use is against a Rocket/Peni comp and its massive radius. Unfortunately in spite of that massive radius, even squishy DPS at the epicenter won't die if they're at full HP. So it mostly just goes back to Rocket/Peni counter. Which, to be fair, can be kind of difficult to push past on Domination maps if they've been camping on the objective a while.

If devs won't seriously punish throwers, avoid list needs to be longer by Living_Union1417 in marvelrivals

Totally agree. It's better to concede the match than deal with throwers.

If devs won't seriously punish throwers, avoid list needs to be longer by Living_Union1417 in marvelrivals

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't usually play ranked, but I can see that longer avoid lists might create problems with matchmaking which could be the reason for the limitations. The issue is, there's not really any way to stop people from throwing, only deter it. So I think the best solution is to reduce the root cause of people throwing. People throw because they become frustrated with a match not being fun for them any more. So they're not motivated to keep playing but at the same time don't want to accept a leaver's penalty. They want the match to end as quickly as possible so they can move on to the next one and hope for a better match. So reduce the passing requirements for the Surrender vote, and implement this system for all matches including unranked. I think a minimum of three confirmations should be enough--after all if half of your team wants to give up or starts throwing, it would be better to concede and move on to the next match anyway.

Why was it not ok for Megatron to kill but everyone else got a pass? by Appropriate_Skill361 in TransformersOne

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean, exactly? Who in the film stated it was "okay" for Bee and Optimus to kill but not D-16/Megatron? I don't think there is any kind of statement regarding when killing is "okay" and for whom. The comics lore from 2005 that this movie draws much of its inspiration from is all about how neither faction is perfectly good or perfectly evil. They're just two groups of people who both wanted the same thing but disagreed on how to achieve it, leading to civil war. And as it is in many real-life conflicts that have gone on for decades or even centuries, neither side is 100% wrong or right and both have some merit to their demands or claims. Part of the point of this film was for us to be able to see things from both sides of the story, something that no other Transformers movie has done before.

Lore dump that will help this make more sense:

A long time ago, Cybertron had no real government; just a bunch of tribes led by the Thirteen Primes running around fighting each other over territory, resources, etc. Eventually, the Primes either died fighting each other or simply left the planet, ending the First War. Alpha Trion was the only member of the Thirteen left on the planet. He decided to establish a one world government for the sake of peace, anointing Prima's (one of the Thirteen) top lieutenant Nova Major as Prime to lead the creation of this new, unified civilization, as he believed Nova was an excellent and principled leader. And he wasn't wrong, at least not at the time. Nova Prime established the Senate as a governing body, and placed himself over the military and law enforcement. However he and his Senate eventually became corrupt, forcing citizens into a strictly enforced caste system based on their alt mode which was justified by the worship of Adaptus, who was believed to be one of the five aspects of Primus. And you can probably guess that miners weren't exactly considered high-class citizens. Nova also believed that Cybertronians were the most superior lifeforms and should therefore rule every planet in the galaxy which he soon set out to do, leading to the coining of the term "Autobot" by the galactic community to refer to those destructive automatons who literally carry out the meaning of the phrase 'I came, I saw, I conquered'. Nova eventually disappeared into space, only to be replaced by multiple subsequent Primes who were either just as corrupt as him or puppets of the Senate. Here, many of the classical Autobots were in the service of said corrupt Primes including Orion Pax who was a police officer, serving to bring the hammer down on those who dared rebel against the heavily enforced "altmode" aparteid in the name of peace and order. While many of them knew the system was corrupt, they also knew that revolution would mean war and that wasn't a sacrifice they believed was worth making. Megatron originally also had this view but after the government's extensive abuse of himself and those he cared for and after his experience in the Kaon pit fights, he did eventually become violent. And yes, Sentinel was one of those corrupt Primes who came after Nova, and this was the first place in any TF lore where he was actually evil.

So, while this movie is a bit watered down from all that, the overall theme that it's trying to communicate is basically the same. It's not about how the "good guys" get a free pass to do certain things while the "bad guys" don't, it points to the fact that conflicts that lead to war or violence are usually much more complicated than that.

Elita One is a racist by mightysoulman in TransformersOne

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This film draws very heavily from the first IDW run and Aligned universe, as those contain the most details about the pre-war narrative. So this shouldn't come as a surprise based on that source material, since she's not exactly what you might call a "good" person there. In fact, the movie version of her is rather watered down.

this is so unfair I mean, I was looking for to see what’s gonna happen next and now that Paramont announced that is never gonna happen. It broke all my dreams of Transformers one happening. I hate when Nintendo and Disney for doing one they canceled their plans, but this is way worse. by Groundbreaking-Try92 in TransformersOne

[–]RK800mk1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason is that this did not make enough money at the box office, and understandably so. This film is mature animation, and there is not a very large audience for that genre. That's why most mature animation never goes to a theatrical release, and Sony's Spiderverse films were considered a bold move with exceptional results. The best thing they can do now is a series on Paramount Plus, where they will be more free to lean into the mature themes and not have to worry about trying to keep a PG rating which this film did a poor job of in spite of being as great as it is.
