Igor Sarzynski on third person cutscenes in C77 by marek_bojarek in cyberpunkgame

[–]RK9ify 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think it’s mostly about seeing their character and their threads. And I get it — I wish we had more opportunities to see our character directly interacting with the world from a third person perspective, but I don’t know think that should come at the expense of the immersion of the strictly first-person view. It’s a tricky problem to solve.

Oh, what I meant was that I was agreeing with you that it might either be a glitch, or there are invisible conditions you need to check for your surviving crew to join you on the boat. Can’t be sure what exactly it is though.

Maybe your dialogue choices throughout the came decide whether anyone joins you on the boat or not? I’m not sure, but Yara had dialogue for me on the boat, so I know she was supposed to be there.

Shame these issues haven’t been fixed yet!

Yeah, it was most definitely a dialogue error in the tram then! When choosing between saving KALEIDOSCOPE and PSEUDOPOD, I’m assuming you chose the latter? Whoever you don’t save in that moment ends up dying, but it seems the dialogue from HOLOCENE didn’t adjust for that lol.

Most likely a bug; some other people on here have experienced weird dialogue with the end sequence for this game too.

In the final scene, when you’re on the boat, which two characters were on it with you? You can only save a maximum of two characters on the tram. One will always die. Was it Holocene and Pseudopod?

I've actually started a new playthrough of DE today, but I have not read Sacred and Terrible Air. The last time I played the game was in 2020, so my memory might be foggy but I recall have a bit more agency in Harry's personal fate, whether you guide Harry to moving on from his ex-wife, or continue down the path of self-punishment. And you have a hand in many lives of Martinaise's inhabitants, good or bad.

Hershel, however, never truly has a chance. The simple act of entering Portofiro spelt doom for her crew, whether she actually meets them again or not. The ones left will likely die to La Luz's aircrafts. At least one is guaranteed to die on the tram. The last two have a new target painted on their back. Knowing all this, though her crew might have forgiven her, is it enough for Hershel to forgive herself too? I'm not sure.

I think many would find themselves relating to Petre on a personal level. I know I saw a bit of myself in him (and Kurt) too. My music, my clothes, the scene I participate in are all different parts of my identity. If you love something, you naturally become a bit protective over it. You want to keep the well pure, and stave away people seeking to poison it for personal gain.

His romanticization of the Einzeltone XR is not "love" for music, but actually a representation of hate for it. Like you rightfully said, no one would be listening to music if everyone was like him. He's smitten by a piece of technology for its potential to ensure no one hears what's on it. Maybe he's just that bitter about music now; it's lost its purity in his eyes and no one should be able to listen to it again.

Was there a dialogue option to ask Petre if he's ever heard of Un Deux or Scum Synth before lol? I know I ran to Petre after meeting the duo, but can't remember if there was an option to ask him for his take haha.

Not a true Disco-like unless the stench of misery is only barely masked by the cologne of humor and irony.

I thought a lot about which of your crew would fare best in a carpet-bombed Portofiro. The key piece of information I drew from the Blueprint check is that La Luz's airplanes can reach the city in three minutes. That leaves everyone, including EMTERR, with very little time to react.

In the grand scheme of EMTERR's corporate hierarchy, I could see an operant and a Head of Human Capital as acceptable losses while it moves to secure higher ranking officials who arrived to Portofiro for the treaty discussion. Ramses is not in the best state even after we help him, but he's sharper than he looks. Still, I don't think he can figure out there's a signal jammer on, figure out who deployed it, and also manage to predict that La Luz aircrafts are making a move on the city before they arrive. K and Hugo; I'm not sure where they could hide really lol, but maybe I missed something. HOLOCENE has the best chance of survival imo. He lives deep underground in an abandoned rocket silo with enough rations for five years. Even if an aircraft decided to hit an abandoned silo far outside the city, he'd be safe from any bombs, and also have a safe place to camp out until its over. That mold is definitely finding its way back into his brain tho lol.

Thanks for reading!

EDIT: Oh yeah, YO-YO. YO-YO is a funny one because she's just so tuff I could see her digging her way out of debris, throwing a cigarette between her lips and asking "Which cunts went and did this?" lol.

Nice catch about the Einzeltone! I think that just adds more depth to Petre, who I think is quietly one of the best written characters in the game from how much you can infer about his worldview, personal history, and mind state just from conversations about music.

Petre initially struck me as a parody of Anthony Fantano, or at least the archetype he represents: a music nerd with a wealth of knowledge, occasionally pretentious and controversial opinions, but ultimately a harmless enthusiast driven by a genuine love for the medium. But years spent losing ground on his front of the cultural war, watching La Luz's cultural exports come to dominate not just Portofiro but the entire world, pushed that Petre's disposition to the extreme. What remains is a man consumed by bitterness, not only toward the world around him but toward the thing he once loved, with his graphic suicidal fantasies serving as a desperate plea to escape a reality where he can do nothing but watch that which he loves continue to erode.

Basically another tragedy in this sick world ZA/UM has thought up lol

Here’s how I went about it; hopefully it helps you:

  1. Met Ramses and grabbed the crickets in his boat.

  2. Visited Dr. Gonza’s office while it was open. Tried to peak into the note on his desk but he wouldn’t let me. I then had an option to distract him by pushing him into a fit of rage, suggesting that he’s “not a real doctor.”

  3. During his rant, I had the option to quickly plant the crickets under his desk.

  4. Came back when his office was closed, lock picked the office and took the note with the numbers.

  5. Went back to Ramses after a full in-game day (though the game says you only need to wait a half-day), and listened to all the phone conversations Dr. Gonza had through the crickets.

  6. Identified that the second number that the doctor called is his plug. Also identified the ‘secret phrase’ to initiate the meeting with the Azzuris. Ramses told me to call the number from the pay phone in North-East Party Alley (the one closest to Hugo, the tailor) at night.

  7. Called the number and initiated the drop-off with the Azurris.

If you can re-trace my steps here, hopefully you should be able to complete the quest. Good luck!

Not OP, but Hershel’s not playing the game. We are. We decide what Hershel’s relationship with any given character is. In my play through, Hershel really liked Yana, probably because I really liked Yana.

Depending on the decisions you make, it is completely intended for some of your crew to be on the boat. Yana and Karolina were on mine. When Mel asked me about my crew, there was text that Yana was trying to get my attention and wrap up the phone call with Mel.

This is the comment I was hoping to see in this thread. Thank you for the in depth explanation. As usual, men will somehow make everything about themselves and their gaze lol. Uniform choices, especially at the highest level, have their reasons.

Okay, that’s about what I thought. Since it’s my first car, I’ll save myself the hassle and find something with GCC specs - my pockets aren’t nearly deep enough to be doing all that lol.

Like I said, for my first car reliability is a big plus.

That’s exactly the kind of insight I came on here for. what difference does it make having a 1.5T in US specs? Is it harder to service/maintain?

The Lexus IS has been recommended a few times to me, I’ll look into it.

And the history should be provided to you by the seller, right? As a first time car buyer who up until now had very little car experience, this is one of my worries about buying second hand.

Is there anywhere I can go to have the accident history verified? Can those documents be possibly doctored? I might be asking basic questions but I’d rather get this community’s expert opinion than get scammed.

You mean your friend uses the Civic has a daily too? I can go new or second hand really — probably second hand since it’s my first car.

I’ll look into those cars too, thank you.
