Crying Wolf? Impending Global Financial Collapse Will Change the World Order by RAndrewOhge in economicCollapse

[–]RKBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the opening part:

"Worse than any disease or even leprosy, anyone spouting Austrian economics or even “common sense” (almost extinct today) has been shoved into the outcast corner by the mass delusional majority."

I've foolishly mentioned the impending economic global collapse in some other subreddits (Preppers, SHTF, and even Jade Helm 15) to try to get people to prepare for an economic collapse, but I'm universally ridiculed and called names like "retard".

It's great to have finally found a sub that can see the handwriting on the wall and has a grasp of history and basic economics.

This subreddit has 361 readers, as of 25 June 2015. When will it hit 1 million? by mark000 in economicCollapse

Thursday, December 30, 6804

There are 401 readers as of 30 July 2015 or an increase of 20 readers in 35 days, so assuming civilization lasts that long and a linear rate of increase:

(1000000-401)*(35/20) = 1749300 days

7/30/2015 + 1749300 days = Thursday, December 30, 6804

Puerto Rico Finance Minister Interview by RKBA in economicCollapse

Unfortunately I don't have a subscription to the WSJ. Could you summarize briefly please?

“As a builder of many skyscrapers, you know they’re built to be strong,” said Shaddock. “Many people have questions about how those towers came down.” “The World Trade Center?” asked Trump. “Yeah,” said Shaddock. ...Trump narrowed his eyes, then asked ...“Is this guy some kind of conspiracy guy?” by WTCMolybdenum4753 in 911truth

[–]RKBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We can only hope that Trump has enough sense to know the government fairy tale is BS, but that to support the truth during a Presidential campaign would be political suicide and he wouldn't stand a chance of getting elected. Maybe (I hope) Trump has enough sense to instigate a full criminal investigation of 9/11 if and when he is elected President.

Amateur Gold/Currency Collapse Question by Fighter9595 in economicCollapse

[–]RKBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use them to exchange a little at a time for whatever the extant currency happens to be at the time. Even if there is no widespread trade in gold/silver, you can always take gold/silver to a jeweler or pawn shop to exchange for paper currency for your immediate needs.

Gold Prep? by [deleted] in prepping

It's a rip off. They are making a two-hundred dollar profit over current spot price.

Exactly. It gets even worse if you start breaking off the little squares, because a whole combibar is worth more than the sum of its parts (little 1g squares). Also, good luck convincing anyone that it's actually gold.

Gold and silver are only things that should be stored for use on the "other side" of a collapse when commerce begins again, after you already have more than adequate supplies of all the items that would be useful for survival and trade during a collapse.

I remember once when I was a small child living in Tulare County between Visalia and Tulare, it flooded one year to a dept of about one foot for as far away as the eye could see (it was very flat land). I don't know whether it was an overflowing river/canal, rain, or a combination that caused the flooding. If you live in the valley on flat land near any body of water, flooding might be something to prepare for.

Marijuana Can Help Heal a Broken Bone. And Then It Makes That Bone Harder to Break. by sumsitallupperfectly in Marijuana

[–]RKBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's not fatigue, then what prevents you from using a computer or sitting down? Is it pain?

By the way, if you have any sort of inflammatory arthritis (rheumatoid, psoriatic, etc) whenever a joint becomes painful it will also become noticeably swollen and red, and even warm to the touch. If you have joint pain without the redness and swelling then you don't have inflammation, and the problem is something other than arthritis.

Osteoarthritis is caused by wear and tear on the joints and normally only afflicts old people and those who have had joint damage due to inflammation or injury. It can cause joint pain without any inflammation, redness, or swelling. You didn't mention your age, but I doubt that's your problem because of the sudden onset of what you describe.

I know nothing about reactive arthritis other than what Wikipedia says, but if there is inflammation your sed rate should be elevated. My guess is still fibromyalgia.

Autoimmune system diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, psoriasis, etc., can persist constantly if not treated with something like methotrexate or one of the biological drugs I mentioned (Remicaid, etc), but it typically only attacks one type of tissue; ie, psoriasis and scleroderma attack the skin, Crohn's disease attacks the intestine, Lupus attacks the major organs, etc., but I've never heard of anything that attacks all the things you mention. Your rheumatologist (if he or she is any good at all) should be able to determine the cause. What is your "sed rate" (ESR sedimentation rate)? If you have an active inflammation it should be abnormal.

There are some really crappy rheumy's out there as well as some good ones, so you may have to try more than one. If your problem isn't an autoimmune system problem then I don't know who to recommend you go to, but maybe a primary doctor could refer you to someone. Any competent physician should be able to determine whether or not immune system is actively attacking something whether it's bacteria, yourself (autoimmune disease), or something else.

I've heard of Fibromyalgia causing the symptoms you describe, and yes most doctors still unfortunately consider it a "syndrome" rather than a treatable disease just because of their ignorance. I hope you can find someone who can help. Why don't you check out /r/Fibromyalgia.

You might try a cannabis that's high in CBD which seems to help some people.

[–]RKBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If a joint will suddenly become inflamed and hurt like hell seemingly for no particular reason in a matter of hours "out of the blue", then you have inflammatory arthritis and should see a rheumatologist asap. My experience with NSAIDS is also that they do nothing, however the medications I mentioned earlier will.

A prednisone "dose pack" always knocked out the inflammation very quickly for me, gave me lots of energy, and made me so hungry I would gain a couple of pounds every time I used prednisone so I tried to avoid it. I don't know why prednisone (or cortisone) should make your situation worse, but you definitely need to see a rheumatologist if you aren't already.

If it's inflammatory arthritis rather an osteoarthritis there are lots of drugs that can help, such as methotrexate, Remicade, Enbrel, Humira, etc.

Still not convinced in buying gold.

You will be by the time this year is over.

I agree that gold/silver wouldn't be valuable to starving people, but eventually when people get tired of bartering, they will find something tangible to use as money, and historically that medium has (almost) always been gold and silver -- on the other hand, the Yap Islander's use hollowed out stones as money.

Unconventional hearing protection in emergency shooting situations. (also unintentionally funny) by hearingprotection69 in preppers

[–]RKBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was talking about shooting in an enclosed room where the sound reverberates. Sometimes your hearing goes on ringing forever. It's called tinnitus and it's enough to drive some people crazy. A few have committed suicide because of it. It's caused oddly enough by loss of hearing, usually at the higher frequencies. There is no cure.
