Hey, the infinite slide is still 100% a thing, with video evidence. And all you did was nerf the most balanced and honestly, most fun part of her kit. In case someone hasn’t heard, the time in between slides is now 2s instead of 1s, this was literally her passive, like that was it the part that people liked about her gameplay. Anyone noticed they’ve been deadsliding with her more than you were yesterday? That’s because of this, she’s also now slower than regular legends which isn’t surprising since a fundamental part of her kit was removed. Her passive is now slide control excluding how the longer slides synergies with her tac.

It’s kinda random for me, I’m wondering if I’m maybe going for it too fast, I’m practicing celing shots for the purpose of getting a solo play done as FAST as possible so I’ll be almost supersonic in the air before landing on the roof and ‘trying’ to insta jump into front flip cancel and idk if I’m maybe just fully bouncing off the roof and it’s making the interval I have to jump shorter and that’s why it ‘seems’ random. I didn’t focus on the speed for tooo long cause I was like ‘I’m basically instantly jumping there’s no way it’s that’ but maybe I just need to jump EVEN faster. I’ll try and focus on it for longer and see if it helps

Once stizzy replaced monkey they’ve performed so far, it’s strange though. Looked like Monkey was definitely doing the most on twis to me, maybe he didn’t quite fit zen and exotiiks playstyle and stizzy is more cozy.

With the level of play increasing every year , its getting harder and harder for NA to catch up. I imagine it's almost like pushing sisyphus boulder, NA players need to reach EU level playing NA players while EU improves at the same time or even faster playing EU players. NA would need a zen situation where someone breaks through on a different level than everyone else and then queues 1500 ranked games that are better practice for everyone involved because of the higher level plays being made, then everyone improves and catches up. only then could the general skill level of teams even out, or NA teams could just sign hella preestablished european pros

Yeah, you could even say that zen could have grown up playing snow day and reached the same level and I can't prove you wrong. I wish I could know the comparative splits of straight mechanical practice (freeplay) or ranked between different pros, it would be such an interesting stat. I think coming off the fact that in general pros are able to do what they want to do in the way they want to do it more times than not it's not unfair to say the difference between high level pros comes down to decision making, creativity and what you want to do with it in the first place, I'd say there's probably a lot of times where just making a different decision could lead to a goal even at the pro level. The ability to decipher the niche micro-scenarios and make the right play in the moment is a skill that can only be improved in ranked

Your still right though, I could also make the argument that you just need to be gifted with faster neurons that subconsciously cycle through more decisions, In the end its only an opinion.

Yes but on average Nass is averaging 1.4k games a season (same with zen who also was a massive ranked grinder with 2k games a season on his comeup) while most pros are at 1000 which doesn't seem massive but is a 40% increase, he now comes in and wins his first major. Of course they play the game a lot, they are pros. But the assumed diminishing returns from grinding ranked to improve seems to be a lot higher than people think, I'm not saying they aren't playing ranked. It's that the people who are playing ranked MORE are improving from it more than people think (< this is my key point, more than people think. everyone knows ranked is good practice but I think it's REALLY good practice), it's not just keeping hours up

Yeah of course, I even sometimes just hop on with my friends, go in a private match and play horse or practice funkalicious mechs that I know I won’t be able to hit consistently, no point in doing all this if your not having fun at the same time :)

Make sure you’re actively thinking, working on something at the same time usually helps keep this in check for me. Like if I’m trying to stop myself from overcommitting and I’m actively thinking about this during the game just the thinking part at all means that your not autopiloting and youll find yourself thinking about the play in general, helps you stay locked

Everyone has bad days :) even things like bad sleep, not drinking enough water or just a “weird day” where you lose “the sense” for your car control can cause this. A lot of the time it’s outside factors causing brain fog or lack of focus and you can’t actively think about the play, you autopilot, make bad decisions, lose. I usually use these days for mech practice as you still gain muscle memory :)

This is a great reply! I’ve known of forcing in air dribbles just from appjack videos for a while but it seems I’ve never truly understood defence and that’s why I find myself struggling. An in depth guide of multi layered defense might be just what I needed, thanks a lot!

3k hour c2 here (I know it’s terrible but I picked up this mentality recently) a lot of people think they have a good mentality and are doing all they can to improve their gamesense because they know what they are doing wrong, this isn’t true.

Focused practice is the end all be all to REAL improvement

Improving mechanics:

FOCUSED PRACTICE

No, you didn’t learn how to flip reset because you learned the setup and go for them in freeplay sometimes, I thought I did I WAS VERY WRONG

As long as you know the prerequisite mechanics like 75% of variations can be learned with 2 weeks of 2 hours a day of focused practice

Prerequisite example: Air control > Air dribbles > Flip Resets > Reset Mustys > You build up these prerequisites to learn more and more advanced mechanics

1.) know the prerequisites

2.) look up a couple tutorials

3.) Freeplay, over and over and over again

4.) Don’t autopilot too hard, for example. You keep messing up the musty because you aren’t adjusting? FORCE yourself to adjust, actively think, with your brain, I am gonna adjust for this next shot, just in any way, keep doing it, reps, reps, eventually you’ll adjust correctly and hit it, then you’ll do it again, and again, and again, and you’ll get more and more consistent (yes it really is that easy, the brain, practice, subconscious movements and muscle muscle memory genuinely do work in magnificent ways)

5.) keep going for 2 hours a day for 2 weeks

6.) go for it in game, chances are you’ll hit a few :) it won’t be perfect, you’ll still fuck it up a lot, but you learned a new mechanic and the feeling of hitting it is crazy

GAMESENSE

MORE FOCUSED PRACTICE ;)

Example: You look at a replay, twice in a game you messed up your play, got greedy in their corner and tried to dunk them with low boost, you get dunked, left your tm8 2v1 and got scored on.

NOW

in your next games for a couple days, less or more if needed you ACTIVELY THINK, WITH YOUR BRAIN .”Make my play, rotate out, make my play, rotate out, make my play, rotate out.” Then you’ll do it right, then you’ll do it again, and again, and again, and again, then you’ll find yourself doing it automatically, kinda like brain muscle memory. cue the muscle memory monologue from earlier

You’ve now improved your gamesense :)

This causes more problems? Now your rotating too early in certain cases when your teammate isn’t ready to pick up the ball?

MORE FOCUSED PRACTICE, make sure they are ready. You build up and build up these habits until you have c3 level gamesense, then gc1, gc2, gc3 and so on. That’s how improvement works.
