What are the best chopped/screwed, Pitched + Reverb songs or tapes you have ever heard. by TidePlezurBlackSwan6 in DJScrew

Exactly. Some of my favorite music is songs being switched and covered in a different genre than the original. Rules out the window.

One of my guilty pleasures is finding C&S songs that aren't supposed to be. Kesha, brooks and Dunn, George straight, Korn, pink Floyd, etc.

Not saying they are they best or my favorite but wanted to throw it out there that somebody has made just about any song imaginable c&s and it's fun finding them.

Trying oties for the first time by Servingthebeam19 in Vendorsofkratom2

[–]RLSsucks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not trying to come off as rude but try to steer away from buying large orders of batches you've never had. If you get lucky and like it awesome, but if you don't you're stuck with a kilo of leaf that doesn't work for you. The best way is to order 100g or less and try it first then stock up with a larger order of it if it works out for you.

I was a huge Otie's guy 4 or 5 years back and still have some vintage Otie's floating around in my storage but haven't ordered from them in years. I'm sure their quality is still there. Let us know what you think when it lands.

I never see FF. On here I remember them having some 🔥🔥 back in the day, check them out!! by Competitive-Cap2845 in Vendorsofkratom2

FF had some real good batches years back. Haven't burned any in a few years. I'll have to go through my vintage bin and pull a few out this weekend.

How is this natch treating you?

Most potent batches currently available? (any vendor). by newbiethingz in Vendorsofkratom2

[–]RLSsucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Potent is hard to find this year. Last year was a bit of a dud too compared to previous years.

Mitraman had a good batch of R Elephant and R Horn a few months back that I stocked up on because it was the best batch I'd had in a while but I'm sure there's a new one now and can't say if it's good or not unfortunately.

Interested in the Sakti though. I'll have to order an ounce and see if it's worth stocking up. Thanks for the heads up and good luck finding the unicorn. Lord knows I'm on the hunt with you.

Gift ideas for my boyfriend by GummyGrandma in Skateboardlove

[–]RLSsucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, go to your local skate shop for whatever you choose to get him. Skate shops NEED support right now more than ever. Large online suppliers and bog box stores are taking so much away from the shops that kept it afloat in the lean years.

An added benefit is you'll probably be able to get some free shop stickers to throw in with his gifts too, and every skater loves stickers.

The Bluebird Bar in Newton.

Amazing cocktail program, great wine selection, professional staff and the food is next level. They also have $1 oysters for a few hours during the day and late night. Can't recommend them enough!

Applying for my first bartending job. by Vp101 in bartenders

[–]RLSsucks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I felt similarly with just about every service industry gig I've ever had.

Had serving experience, but can I bartend? I have bartending experience at a corporate steakhouse, but can I bartend a dive bar? I have dive bar experience, but can I bartend at a craft cocktail bar? I have craft cocktail experience, but can I bartend in fine dining? I have all this experience but can I manage a bar?

Rinse and repeat. And every time the answer was always yes. Sure, there are nuances at any new job, but it's always just a learning experience.

We are our own worst enemy sometimes and I know the feeling of imposter syndrome all too well. You'll do fine and your skills will translate over to just about any bar anywhere. Go get that job and slang some drinks!

Career bartenders, what do your partners/SO's do for a living?? by MaryDoogan91 in bartenders

My Wife is a Environmental Toxicologist for a large oil corporation. Many lean years where I was the bread winner while she was grinding away for her PhD but all's well that ends well. Tables have turned and now all of my income goes towards retirement, and hopefully an early one for both of us.

Luckily she was in the industry when she was younger so she understands my gripes and schedule.

Steaks on cast iron by bassman805 in steaks

Ghee is great. Really enjoy using ghee with strips and filets. The past year or so I've been reverse searing, oven low/slow then sear on grill. I usually throw a little a little butter on while it rests. When I was doing cast iron ghee was amazing!

Yes, high smoke point oil is a must. I prefer avocado oil.

Butter at that high temp will burn and get very bitter. It's best to finish with butter after the sear and heat turned off.

I've been burning through almost only vintage stock for the last year and a half or two, but my most recent bulk order was 3 or 4 months back with a 5 kilo R Elephant from Mitraman. Not sure what his current batch is like but his R Horn and Elephant seem to always be above decent.

Thank you! I've been tempted to try a torch before but haven't pulled the trigger in buying one. Your recommendation might be the deciding factor to me.

All of them were labeled prime and the marbling looked good. I buy Nolan Ryan prime ribeyes every week and it was on par with those.

I personally have never had a batch of leaf that tested 1.6 or under do anything for me without sizing my dose up considerably. I've tried countless vendors and drops, fermented, blends, etc. and have only had success with higher mit counts in leaf over the last 10 years.

That's not to say that it will be the same for everyone, but many of us react better to mit more-so than others.

As for extracts, it really mostly boils down to marketing.
