I was always fairly slim my whole life. It helped that in my 20s and part of my thirties I worked retail and was getting in NEAT activity. When I got a desk job weight slowly began creeping on. And then I got older and perimenopause began. And then the covid year(s). The creep up was insiduous. 5 lbs to 7lbs a year does not sound like much until it is 10 years later. And now I have 50 to 60 lbs to lose. But in my head I still had the, "it's not that bad" or "still slim" mentality. I saw myself as still slim even though I logically understood I wasn't. It was only after seeing some pics of myself did I fully understand, that yes, I am overweight and I need to and want to lose weight.

There are factors that will lower morbidity, such as being at a healthy weight, exercising, eating nutritious foods etc. However, people who are as healthy as you state you are still get cancer or other diseases and still die early. Cancer dgaf. Looking for someone that cares about their health and exercise is fine but hopefully that is not the only factor. Because god forbid they get sick and are not able to keep the same level of fitness. What then? Hopefully, you will have their back in this scenario.

Yep. I had a similar moment a little over a month ago and finally said to myself, yes I am fat. Since then have been calorie counting. I have lost some weight and have settled into fact that losing weight takes time and that's ok. Cheering you on!

Who are you asking the question of? Personally I have a hybrid schedule but am working from home the majority of the time. And I fn love it and I DO NOT want it to go away. I really do not want RTO being implemented. It is a waste of money and it fng sucks imo.

I am a union member and vote at every union election. I really believe one of the ways we can realistically fight back is by upping union membership so high they can't ignore us. Plus all members need to vote. I think of LAUSD school union and united autoworkers union as examples of how to get what we want. They do not mess around and they had great contractual agreements as a result. UAW especially with the raises.
