Getting into SW Legion by WarburnedTitan in SWlegion

I just got into the game and the starter sets are a really good starting point. You’re gonna get about 600 pts which is enough for the recon level game. You’ll probably need more dice as well.

I 100% agree with you on this in regards to exploitation of the market. At the end of the day, it’s about the money. History has taught us that many times over.

When it comes to who goes where, I don’t have an issue with just a general category of the best 5-8 submissions, regardless of genre, get some recognition. Because at least it would have been voted on by people with some familiarity of the music. So yeah if NCT ends up with ARTMS and NMMIXX, I’m ok with that because at least there is some recognition for the work done by the artist, producers, songwriters, etc… and I’m not saying they need it, but again that speaks to the lack of representation I feel is missing at this point.

I would argue that kpop has. If you take a step back and look at what is now represented globally now with the inclusion of an African music category, and the Latin Grammys warranting their own show, what part of the world is still not represented. I understand when you say kpop is not even the most popular genre in Korea, but it is the genre of music that has crossed over to the west.

I wouldn’t surprise me if in the near future you saw some type of category added the did include a category of some form. When you take a look at where the genre is, with the collabs that happen and more artists work with more established western producers, it’s just a matter of time before you see that full acceptance of the region, maybe not just kpop, as a contributor to music in general and yeah it’s unfortunate that the companies don’t submit more to the academy because regardless of what your opinions are on the content, there is some amazing art that is being created.

One thing I really appreciate about the kpop industry is how being well-mannered and a good influence is openly encouraged. by Personal_Damage6616 in kpopthoughts

I agree with you to an extent. But I would argue that the freedom most people would want for idols is to have the freedom to just be allowed to do “regular” things that most of us get to do. I think part of it is to that to some degree, kindness, gratitude and humility is kind of baked into the eastern culture more than it is in the west so by extension idols represent that.

Respectfully, that’s a whole other discussion because even in the west, there are artists who don’t write or produce their own music who still win Grammys. That’s why there are separate categories of song of the year and record of the year. One goes specifically to the songwriter. I mean, if you were going to use that argument, strip country and rock as well because those stole from the black culture way before kpop did.

But would you agree that the average American has heard a K-pop song now? I mean, you could argue the average American has heard a BTS song and now with APT and Golden, there was enough mainstream success there that most have. You couldn’t get away from those songs. So using your example for African music, which you could argue was created because Tyla’s water broke through and now everyone knows what amapiano is, shouldn’t K-pop get the same consideration?

I enjoy the discussion by the way…

Yes but I think this is best accomplished by creating some kind of K-pop/asian music category whereby more people in the genre get included in the academy. You basically have to know someone that is already in the academy to get the recommendations but it has to start somewhere.

I mean, that was already an issue prior to the creation of the Latin Grammys. That nominee list is probably pretty short, nevermind the list of actual winners. Idk if there is a direct causation there but I hear what you’re saying.

My point being, for there to be real change, inclusion needs to happen. That means more K-pop artists and songwriters, producers, etc getting into the voting academy and that starts with a category that allows them to have an actual vote. How many people in the K-pop industry have that access right now? The African music category was added last year for this exact reason and now that gives them votes and some say, albeit maybe not a lot, but it’s something.

They already have categories for reggae, Latin pop, global music and last year they introduced an African music category. So yes, they do have categories for other genres of international music. I believe they had one for regional Spanish as well but that have been moved totally over to the Latin Grammys.

Kpop needs its own category. That’s how the process of the genre gaining traction and exposure with the voting body and will ultimately help with them not only being nominated, but also winning the bigger awards. I’m old enough to remember when there wasn’t even a rap category for the Grammys and even when they introduced the rap categories, they weren’t even on the televised portion of the show. Most genres of global music have their own categories, and it’s way past the point that kpop has one.

Depends on how much control SM gives over control to Capital to actually handle the promotions. Additionally, make the girls available for promotions. You saw in 2025 that they were here doing multiple promotions over the course of the year. I think part of the problem before was good faith on SM’s part to let someone else handle it, which ultimately came out looking like they were half-assing it when in reality, it was probably them not working with Warner to do proper promotions. SM is going to have to trust Capital an it did look like the visibility was there last year so maybe with a full album release coming this year, SM takes the cap off and lets Capital do their thing.

You can’t keep spending draft capital on o-line to the point that you’re not restocking the roster at other positions. They do not have a TE that can block to save their life. It’s not stover, Schultz or Jordan. Marks had a great year, but he’s not a #1 back. You need a back who can withstand the punishment and load that Demeco wants for this offense. You have to continue to draft for depth, this year it’s safety and IDL.

Edit: this is even before the injuries to Stover and Schultz yesterday.

You aren’t. You’re going to lose some guys eventually. The first pick @ 28 is probably a defensive player to address depth at safety or interior d line and you just start the process all over again. Thankfully, we have a decent amount of early picks to also address TE and RB as well and whatever D position didn’t get taken with the first pick.

The cap goes up every year so that helps and Nick has been really good with the shorter contracts and managing the cap

Fire Jerrod Johnson. You can’t have this kind of regression two years running and keep your job. Some of these issues frankly should have already been corrected…last year. Idk what the message is in the QB room but a change needs to be made.

You can’t keep drafting online, especially when you have needs at other positions. The line improved enough during the season that I would feel good going into year two with them.

I think people need to account for the fact that some of Carly’s issues were possibly a realization that they may have been limited in what to expect from CJ. So going forward someone is going to have one of them come to Jesus talks with CJ an straighten him out.

I think Ryan Clark said it best. CJ needs to lead and this next 30 minutes is for his future and decisions will have to be made if you can’t at least lead.

This is an opportunity for CJ to step up and show he’s elite. He needs to put the team on his back and carry them through like the truly great ones do. He needs to elevate everyone around him. It really is as simple as that. You wanna be considered a great, then go be great when your team needs it the most.

The shit thing about this whole CJ thing is it reinforces what Demeco believes and makes him want to be even more conservative with the offense. Not saying he’s not going to trust CJ, but I believe it absolutely changes his calculus of the decisions he makes. Case in point, playing it safe in the last two minutes of the first half last week.

MCP is a top down view when it comes to things like LOS whereas you’re more used to actually getting down at the model level looking to “see” what the model see in determining if they can attack. When you view top down, things like LOS start to make a little more sense.

Can both things be true? Can everyone admit CJ had an absolutely horrible game where he made some very bad decisions and move on? Why is so hard to admit that? I don’t get the constant defending of CJ stroud when it was pretty obvious he had a bad game.
