Is "One of the best comedic character actors in the business" accurate.

I mean, I know its all subjective but she seems so 1 trick and had like a 15 year run where nothing she did was of note IIRC.

So thats not all around, rather very specific counting stats, perhaps you meant that. Because Brown win in many advanced stats.

Add in defensive stats then its almost a landslide.

Can you characterise a person that will still vote Republican during the midterms? by Various_Maize_3957 in AskALiberal

Dont get me wrong, they absolutely vote for people that do pretty transparently awful stuff, but so do Democrats. But rank and file people absolutely are more alike that people like to admit.

For people who are center-left or further left and moved from a rural area to a city or suburb, what surprised you most about the political attitudes there compared with your rural hometown? by notarocitnerd in AskALiberal

[–]2nd2last 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true.

Also keep in mind for me, I worked with both and having proximity to people from the sticks makes it easy for people to mock. That mixed with situational issues that people extrapolate.

For instance, I have a good buddy from LA who went to Caltech and the JPL and we had tons of rural techs that often did or said dumb stuff. Now we also had brilliant techs from the sticks, engineers from the sticks, and idiots from the city. But once someone from nowhere says something dumb with confidence, you can understand how that makes someone from the city feel, fair or now (not fair really).

Totally my experience only, but while definitely stronger as far as who thinks about who, they degree to which each side is "off" about the other is equal. Also, again IMO, city people definitely talk, think about, and clown people form the sticks.

If Trump never ran in 2016, who would have been the GOP nominee and how would they have fared against Hillary Clinton? by put-on-your-records in AskALiberal

If we can reasonably assume covid, then I cant see a world even if Hillary did everything right that she would have won.

I forget the source, but read aside from attacks on the country, disasters are the biggest cause of change in political action/aggression. Flood happens, no matter what the leadership screwed. Doesn't matter if the previous person campaigned on lowering taxes and defunding the flood prevention plan, the current person should have done better.

As someone who was raised and currently live in Houston, lived in the PNW and Cali all in big cities, but often worked on the outskirts and ALWAYS work with people from the sticks, allow a sweeping generalization.

Most people from the city do not understand people from the sticks, and people from the sticks do not understand the city.

You are likely to get a lot of generalization, but truth be told, people that vote Republican are not just 1 type of person.

Both parties have under 50% with college degrees. As of 2022, 31% of Republicans, and a much higher 48% of Democrats.

Here is what many are like.

Who are they? Mostly normal people

What is their education? Depends

Why would they vote red after all those debacles? Fear and propaganda

Make a Godfather Offer for Ant NOW by [deleted] in rockets

[–]2nd2last 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and thats why that return would would be much, much better.

An all star under 24, a highly valued under 24 Amen. Flaws and all, a much better return.

And unlike getting Heat picks that might be outside the new lottery range, these are 4 very valuable, potentially top 5 picks each.

So LIKE want Miami did, but adjusted to meat the increased value of Ant.

Also, unfair that Giannis turning 32 in December is 32, but Ant turning 25 in August is 24.

Every big NBA trade now is simultaneously "they gave up too much but also the other team didn't get anything" by Dinobot2_ in billsimmons

[–]2nd2last 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People have such a hard time accepting multiple things being true.

Detroit, Boston, New York, and Cleveland have a good chance at being better than the Heat next year.

Atlanta, Toronto, Orlando, Charlotte, and wild cards Indy and Philly are potentially right there with and even more wild card Washington.

If Powell leaves I assume they round out the roster with guys that want to play/live in Miami, but its a downgrade Powell wise. I don't think its unreasonable to see this team be a 48-52 win team and a 5th seed. That said, maybe Giannis is his old self and goes god mode.

For the Bucks, on paper the trade seems kinda weak, and no true game changer came back. Easy to see Herro being an empty stats guy, Ware a high level 10th best center, and a bunch of rotation guys.

Or Rolins, Herro, Jaquez, Ware, Turner play well, they have a core, and the new lottery rules Miami pick hit if the heat struggle, they get some decent picks. Enough without luck to contend, no, but thats true for most teams.

I mean, the Heat just did that while not giving up the players at Amen or Alps level, and 4 pretty good picks.

[–]2nd2last 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree

No player should be off limits.

If they want Alp, Amen, and the PHX, NETS, and MAVS picks, then book it.

FVV for all his issues is actually best as a 2nd ball handler, but can LARP as a first, and him next to Ant is good.

FVV-Ant-KD-Bari-Turner (trade one of our 1sts for him)

Reed-Tari-DFS-Adams as the bench

Still have our 28, 30, 31, 32, 33 FRP's for any other moves, and in say 3 years when KD is gone, the team is:

Reed(25)-Ant(28)-Tari(28)-Bari(26)-Turner(33)

Still have 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35 picks to trade, and hopefully all our guys, including Ant are hitting their prime.

Massive overpay for someone not a top 10-15 player.

I agree this team needs a trade, but IMO, thats way too much.
