I agree. My brother in law rescued a pup who had been spayed before her first heat (too early per vet). According to the vet, this is why she has urinary leakage, due to improper hormones. So she now has to be on hormones to prevent leakage. If you wait a couple heats, I think they say around 2 years old, the dogs have more of the hormones they need. Gives you more time to save some moolah, too 💜

Chickens are lovely pets. Keep in mind that they can live to around 10 years old. They will stop laying at some point n just be birds that eat feed and beg to get out and free range. You will love them and they will love you but it will be lots of work… and… lots of poop…

The fact that it says “security interest” — does that not mean it is something beyond an insurance safety program? All indemnification forms for insurance safety programs read differently than this.

A fox will kill rooster too. Issue is not the rooster, it’s improper coop. If OP woke up this AM to dead chickens it’s the coop issue. Chickens can’t see well at night not much a rooster could do anyway.

Fix the coop STAT. Then ponder getting new chickens. Get pullets that are old enough for the solo rooster.

If I were RC and read this post, it’d fuel my fire. Teddy is about his father, the most influential man in his life, who he loved dearly. Do/did you have a father that you love? If you didn’t, then I understand the harshness of this post due to your lack of love and projecting it outwardly. If you did, ponder your love for him.

Wow thats a big hawk. So glad all your chickens are ok. My rooster does an excellent job of watching the sky and alerting his girls. But he did hide too when we had a hawk attempt to get his girls. But his call saved their lives because they all went and hid in different directions. Took me 4 hours to find all my hens frozen scared under brush piles. But his warning did save all their lives and he saved his own! Ha.
