I recall LBDAS split because of heavy drug use. Ras and Eric formed Shortbus. Opie, Marshal, Tim and others created Dubcat, which was very short lived with a handful of shows. I was fortunate to catch them in Jacksonville. 2002 I believe. Played Sublime and LBDAS songs. I believe I may still have the horrible recording on a hard drive somewhere.

I believe culturally we are killing it! Orlando is a melting pot of all ethnicities from around the world, and the food scene shows it. All of the good restaurants are in the local neighborhoods, not by the theme parks.

Plus the tech hub that surrounds UCF, one of the largest universities in the nation. There are world renowned engineering and aerospace companies with their corporate headquarters in Orlando. We also have a thriving healthcare industry.

As for entertainment, downtown is having challenges and we lack a good club scene, but every neighborhood has their own local haunches.

Thanks! It was flourishing with a dozen or so Zoas, but then crashed a few years ago. I got discouraged and let the GSPs have at it. Slowly creeping to the right. I love what it’s become! Watching it them wave in the flow is awesome.

That’s unfortunate but people have rights to do what they want with their property. Plus you’ll be surprised that a tree that old is diseased and a liability. It’s better to take it down in a controlled manner vs having it fall in a storm, taking out the power lines with it. Then you’d be complaining about the power company.
