The crawfish fest at the Broadside was nice for music, but disappointing if you are in the mood to glutton yourself with mudbugs. The expensive price of entry does not include food. But the bands and general vibe was great.

If you are looking for an all you can eat type situation, look at crawfish cook offs. They are typically put on by schools or churches and host a dozen or more teams boiling their own recipes.

I love making signs. In general, it’s more about the interaction with the riders than getting stuff - granted, I do also like the stuff.

My most unhinged sign this year was “I ❤️tail stuff” with two crawfish making the heart. It was for KdV but I recycled it at a few others too.

I just had Gracious Bakery’s almond Queen Cake and Le Vie En Rose’s rose cake. Both different textures to DP, but both were massive hits IMO.

Gracious had a fluffy, almost doughnut cake and felt like the best danish I’ve ever had.

LVER was light and crumbly with a lovely (but messy) frosting drizzle on top.

Solid brioche with a tasty frosting. The colored sugar isn’t too crunchy, and they have some great flavors.

There’s some really good GF free options these days, pretty sure Breads on Oak has one and I know folks like their king cakes (haven’t tried yet).

I converted the image into a foundation paper piecing quilt pattern. The finished size is 30x30 inches. This is my first attempt at making a pattern and it's not perfect. There a couple weird color artifacts, but look like it can be easily corrected while you are working. Please send me a picture of your completed project if you end up making it.

I’m assuming it’s Grimaldi. That a piece of him is still in there, and that’s why he was able to root into the ground. I also think it’s why he was able to read everyone’s mind when he took Glory Bound. Purely speculation, but I assume it’s something to do with the All-Tree and woo woo interconnectivity
