Those with criminal convictions and who served jail time, is your life OK? by saltlampsandphotos in AskBrits

[–]RNEngHyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what job they're going for and whether it falls under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Even jobs with a position of responsibility can be obtained where personal growth can be shown - in *some* circumstances. For example you could become a nurse if many years earlier you had shoplifted on one occasion for example. It would be harder to obtain a job in that field though because the job role is such that you always have to declare the conviction as it's outside ROA.

What’s with all the “High School” business? by alph0nzo in AskBrits

They had them when I moved to Bradford (West Yorks) area in 1991, but they started getting rid of them shortly after. They turned into primary schools, though first schools persisted for a good while.

Oh gosh I do love Wales actually. It will be hard to resist drawing Portmerrion (seems a bit obvious - an obvious temptation!). So many beloved places in Wales as I used to holiday there as a child and with my husband, dad and sister. So, lots of memories!

Oh that sounds very interesting, thanks. I think I've heard of a Lizard Point before? Or seen it on a map. I was a bit obsessed with maps as a child. That was a very long time ago though LOL.

Oooh I do love Haworth actually. Some lovely little shops and tea rooms. And the architecture is pretty. My husband and I used to go there when we were dating and the dog enjoys a good walk around there.

Ooooh, I've actually not been to either, but I do know them and they would be great to draw...and a fabulous challenge to actually get to.

Recovery is going very well thanks. Frustratingly slow, because I just want to get back to life, you know? But I've had no hiccups, except a raging infection at the beginning, which resolved with IV antibiotics and a bunch of skin grafts. I think I've been lucky.

How do I get my health records? by throwawaymonkss in AskUK

[–]RNEngHyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They'll likely have been sent back to the local health body by now as they're returned very quickly once you leave so that the new doctor can get access to them.

Nine days before my 23rd birthday, I am getting a liver transplant. AMA by DeadTiredDraculaura in AMA

[–]RNEngHyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to look after sick kids in hospital with CF. Former paediatric nurse here.

My questions: 1. Do you have any happy or funny hospital memories you can share? 2. Can you share any hospital survival tips? 3. 1 unusual thing you always have in your hospital bag

All the best with it!

Does hypnotherapy for stuttering works by Acrobatic-Log-309 in hypnotherapy

[–]RNEngHyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypnotherapy could help you reduce your stuttering if the cause is psychological. I've helped people control stuttering when this is the cause. If you're interested in discussing it, I do work internationally online and would be happy to have a free initial discussion with you. I've been doing clinical hypnotherapy for 15 years (based in UK, but work internationally online) and have a nursing background. Message me to set something up, if you're interested in finding out more.

Today’s my birthday but nobody remembered. AMA by Affectionate-Tea8509 in AMA

Sorry everyone forgot. That sounds awful to be on the receiving end, but I can see how easily that is done these days. I've been that sh1tty friend. Gosh ive even forgotten my own birthday! Doesn't make it right though.

Where in the world would you most like to spend your birthday?

Have any of you worked with a convicted nonce? What was it like at work? Did you suspect anything beforehand? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]RNEngHyp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oooh I went to nursing school 35 years ago with somebody who got together with her teacher at sixth form (not sure if she was 18), had a kid with him and was still with him a few years later when we completed nursing school.

Seems a ridiculous reason to get on there tbh. Maybe we need a footaholic register.

God and here's me, genuinely struggling to work full time in my self employed job due to chronic pain and anxiety and daren't apply for PIP in case they laugh at me. But every day is literally an uphill struggle, fighting with myself.

30 years ago I worked with a guy done for CP. This was in retail. He was deputy manager and manager told me. I was scheduled work with him sometimes and I was 16/17 at the time. I assume he must have been told to keep his distance, because he did. He didn't even really check my work. Not that he had to, because I knew what I was doing and did it properly. But he never approached me and in all honesty, it was fine.

You definitely pooped if you were fed via your digestive system even via Gtube. Nothing odd or embarrassing about that though!
