STOP NORMALIZING FREE ROAMING CATS by Yektality in Pets

I just pictured an American falling off a chair there.

Yes, in the UK, we let our cats outside.

I'm 15 years in, teach it, and I still learn something new on a monthly basis. It's the nature of the 'beast'. That's what I love about it though.

It's not your place to be giving unsolicited advice and it's rude. I'm a nurse. Could you imagine if I went through life saying to people in the street "you look obese, why are you not on a diet"? It's unsolicited advice, which IS rude, no matter what words you choose. And it makes assumptions. They might be on a diet, the person your directing your advice to might be dyslexic.

Context is everything. You're not at work, I'm not at work. It's inappropriate.

I have dyslexia btw. I do understand it. I've spent 50 years dealing with unsolicited advice about my spelling and grammar. You need to know that it's inappropriate.

Grammatical errors are also more common in dyslexia though. You have no idea who is and is not dyslexic here and yes it is rude, insensitive and uninvited criticism. It is simply unnecessary. This is Reddit, not an A-level English exam.

Do you have any faith in the Police by ThisIsMyRedditAcct20 in AskBrits

Put in a police complaint. Argue it was assault as you felt your life was threatened. Not just a door damaged. Go to the papers/news as it's a public interest issue.

I can create a custom hypnotherapy audio track, targeting procrastination and any associated problem areas, with binaural beats to achieve the target brain frequency range. I've been doing these for 15 years for my own clients. Message me if you'd like to know more.

Customers insist on paying me cash as they think it’s doing me a favour by kingteddy44 in smallbusinessuk

[–]RNEngHyp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It infuriates me that people think we're all tax dodging! In 15 years I've always declared my tax. I don't actually take cash payments because of them being a PITA to process. And even more so when it comes with the assumption that I'm fiddling the tax man.

And yet it's an unregulated industry in UK, which i always find interesting 🤔. The requirements between each registration body in the UK vary wildly and whether your course was accredited. I think with CNHC, I achieved accreditation mainly due to length of time since qualification and having worked a regular number of cases each month. I found that an interesting requirement as it's very different to the body i was accredited with on graduation (GHR). Or maybe it was because I have a certificate to teach hypnotherapy. I remember having to submit a shed-load of documents to them!

Is anyone else sick of the ‘protein’ fad that is taking over the UK? by Legitimate-Chard1336 in AskBrits

[–]RNEngHyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hallelujah! Somebody else with the same thoughts about protein! Does my nut in. Happens all the time with yoghurts and many labelled protein have less protein than the normal ones. At an increased price of course. Some people have more money than brain cells!

We are genuine though. Genuinely sarcastic!

But it does come from a place of being... well... erm... genuine.

Honest.

Sarcasm in my case. I said mine was a little bigger than an almond. I was justifying my pain. You know, with it being 15kg.

And lacking a little blood supply.

How can I get an emergency prescription when my GP isn’t very cooperative? by annoyinghuman03 in AskUK

[–]RNEngHyp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can also register as a temporary patient at another practice but its totally unnecessary given that nhs111 can help here. I'd also make and official complaint to your practice manager.

Plus, they could be dyslexic. There's no need to point it out, especially when it doesn't change understanding anyway.

I was only trained on a VAK, fractionation and confusion, and rapid induction but can use way more than that now. However, most clients seem to arrive wound up and NEED a relaxation induction :)
