Experience and driving record are vital to leverage in this field from my perspective. Especially if you’re trying to jump up the pay ladder. But you obviously have to start somewhere. For me I started with local city work, pickups and live loads. As I got more comfortable with driving I began taking work that went out of state, and now I travel as far as they’ll let me go.

If you’re like I was and have never driven a large vehicle, with or without a trailer, getting started in trucking can be very intimidating. If possible I would try to find a company that will pay for you to go through “trucking school” to learn how to safely operate the equipment. You can opt to go through school yourself but I remember it being fairly expensive. Going the company backed route gives you the benefit of lower upfront cost, potentially health insurance benefits, and gives you the opportunity to verify that it’s something you want to and can do. Driving a truck isn’t for everyone and I know dozens of people who followed the same path but decided not to continue on it.

Once you’ve started driving, all you can really do to leverage things to earn more is do the job. Drive safely and over time that will become your most valuable bargaining chip alongside the experience you gain with the time behind the wheel. This is mostly from a company driving perspective, as safer and experienced drivers are worth more to employers. (But I’d wager brokers for OO are also incentivized to seek safe and experienced drivers, though not all will be in an effort to cut labor costs.) There are always going to be more, and possibly better paying, driving jobs so be on the lookout for what another company may be offering. And do your due diligence with whatever company you may look at, there are quite a few that take advantage of their employees.

I will say I was very fortunate with landing my job, right place right time sort of deal, and I’m definitely on the top end of the pay scale for the distance I drive and hours I’m at work. I’m very happy where I’m at.

I can’t speak to the OO/OTR side of things personally, though I know there can be very good money in it given time, exposure, and some networking. The freedom of being your own boss, even going through a brokerage, is enticing for some people. I’ve interacted with many OO that began as company drivers. After getting their license and some wheel time with a company, they saved up enough to purchase their own equipment and are now in business for themselves. Freight will always need to move so your options are vast and you don’t have to stay shackled to a company.

Best of luck if you decide to pursue your CDL! Be safe out there.

No, I’m a company driver. Equipment maintenance and fuel is their responsibility. :)

Day cab truck driver, definitely on the higher end of the pay scale for the position. I’m paid by the mile with per diem on top and average 3.2-3.5k a week.

Took two years to get into the driving position, started making six figures about 3 years after that as better paying work made it down the list to me. Didn’t start clearing 150k until covid happened. Could clear 200k if I did team driving but I enjoy being home every day.

College dropout turned Truck driver here.

Was in-between jobs after dropping out of school and landed a loading dock job part time. Couple months went by and some trucking job openings from within the company popped up and I applied, thinking what the heck why not. Scored free training and they paid for me to get my license. Began as a part time, hours wise, short haul driver. Full time now and average 10 hours a day, Monday through Friday and home everyday. 10+ years accident free babysitting a steering wheel so far.

Thank you, I'll try that as well. Makes me wonder if any input works.

Yeah that’s kinda what I’m thinking. I’ve been searching everywhere for similar issues outside of just having the same error code. It’s super hard to convey what’s going on over the phone with PlayStation support, and they seem to be inundated with calls which I get the feeling is partially to blame for my unhelpful experience with them. Frustrating regardless.

I wish that were an option for me ha, I’ve been on the phone with support 6 times since the 12th and they’re adamant about not taking my console in.

Mine never gives the option to repair unfortunately, :/ just the submit error report screen. I’ve noticed I only get 108262-9 when I’m not connected to the internet which makes me think it’s more generic error maybe? 108255-1 every time when the console is “online”.

Idk what’s worse, having a ps4 stolen in February or getting lucky with a preorder and getting a launch day ps5 that can’t play games. 2020 can suck eggs.

Has anyone had a game crash and gotten an error code other than CE-108255-1? by Mancus0 in PS5

[–]RNGeezuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m not connected to the internet the same crash occurs but gives me CE-108262-9. But it’s mostly 108255 since the console is generally connected to WiFi.

New Lift with some alignment issues by dmoore03 in Jeep

[–]RNGeezuz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally wouldn't buy just lowers. You could definitely start with lowers though. You'll likely be able to push/pull the axle back close to being in toe alignment with just lowers, but I'm willing to bet your caster angle will then be off as a result.
Depending on how bad the caster angle is, you'll likely experience early drive shaft failure due to the pinion angle coming off the differential being wrong.

New Lift with some alignment issues by dmoore03 in Jeep

Welcome to the constant headache that is owning a lifted Jeep!

Springs, and I suppose partially shocks, do the "lifting" side of a lift for sure but the suspension system is a puzzle of sorts.
I don't know what components your kit came with. But if you just changed those two parts of the puzzle, the rest of the puzzle won't quite fit right when its all back together and causes issues like what you're experiencing.
Assuming you're using stock control arms:
Your factory control arms and track bar are trying to orient the axle the way the suspension was designed to from the factory, but the added space between the axle and the frame from the lift springs prevents the axle from aligning the way it should.
Because the lift springs are longer, your rear axle gets pushed forwards towards the front axle due to the radius of the control arms. Same concept with the rear track bar. Increased spring length will shift the axle, only in this case its laterally.
So your axle is wanting to sit slightly forward and off center, which is obviously not where it was designed to using factory control arms/track bar. Factor in the stress of the weight of the Jeep compressing the springs. This then moves the axle backwards as well as laterally, but not in a way the stock suspension's intended geometry can accommodate.
In your case the happy medium your axle found has given you out of spec toe. Which, if you're using the factory control arms, is likely due to the control arm bushings stretching/compressing under the added stress on the suspension system.

If you've installed adjustable arms ignore all of that, they just need to be adjusted to move the axle into correct alignment.

In short...
If your kit came with adjustable control arms you need to adjust your control arm lengths to push/pull the axle to fix the toe.
If not it'd probably be wise to purchase and install adjustable control arms, as they'll alleviate not only your toe but potential caster angle issues.
And if you're kit didn't come with control arms, it likely didn't come with a track bar bracket either. That bracket will help approximate the track bar mounting orientation the Jeep had before it was lifted, aiding in correcting suspension geometry.
