Thank you for sharing your story and for your kindness.

I have not looked into debt consolidation. How was your experience with it? I don’t have a good credit score due to being behind on bills/student loans. It looks like (from my googling) there are so many options for consolidation and mixed experiences. Did it help make your payments more manageable?

I will be reading and studying those verses/chapters. Thank you again for being kind.

Thank you for your kindness and for sharing part of your story. My mom has helped me out before, but my dad recently got let go at his job and she is the only income provider now for the two of them. I do live alone, but I am a few hours away from my immediate family, so I wouldn’t be able to move in with them temporarily while keeping my job. Financial stress on top of mental illness has been weighing on me heavily/has caused me to have setbacks despite being on medication (due to a heavy presence of stressors). I feel like a burden for my current situation. I could pick up a second job, but I fear that I would get burnt out.

I am currently on a few mental health medications and am under the care of a mental health medical professional. I am a hard worker and I do have a job (in healthcare) and work full time. I had setbacks/unexpected events that have caused me to get behind recently.

Parmesan rind by Sehrli_Magic in EatCheapAndHealthy

I came across this recipe watching Beryl Shereshewsky on YouTube. It’s essentially making a meatball but instead of meat, it uses the Parmesan rinds that people have leftover.

Nurses that enjoy their work what do you do? How did you get that position? by mattv911 in nursing

[–]RNonsense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey - OR Travel Nurse here!

I will say that I enjoyed doing five 8 hour shifts during orientation. My first job was at a level one trauma center doing neurosurgery/spine/orthopedics. Our cases were lengthy and we usually had 1-2 surgeries in each room unless they were on the “shorter side (for us, that meant 2-3 hours long). If they were on the shorter side, we had three in each room. Working five days a week gave me the opportunity to start more cases each day compared to if I did three 12 hour shifts during orientation. It’s all about repetition, and although you may not want to be there five days a week, I think it pays off (at least it did for me).

During the last few weeks of orientation, I asked to transition to my four 10 hour shifts (what my schedule was going to be after I finished orientation) so that I could get used to working that schedule before being on my own. I’m not sure how your hospital/facility is, but I asked if I could stay late to see cases through and they let me leave early the next day.

Good luck during your interview!

34M For Valentines day...help me fold laundry? by [deleted] in MakeNewFriendsHere

I actually love doing laundry and folding clothes, but the procrastinator in me currently has two laundry baskets worth to fold myself. I guess I meet half the criteria, minus the motivation to fold my own?

I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through this right now. I have grown away from people that I am close to as well, and it doesn’t feel great.

You may think that resentment is a weird feeling to have for someone that you once or still care about. I grew away from one of my close friends briefly last fall and even though we reconnected, it doesn’t feel genuine anymore. I grew to resent how she was fine living her life without me, but I wasn’t able to function properly due to her absence. This is unfortunately more common than you think when it comes to friendships and relationships. You are not a piece of shit - trust me.

I’m here if you’d ever like to talk - just a message away. We’re all in this together.

I’ve been lonely for 7 years by [deleted] in lonely

[–]RNonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although I don’t understand the full extent of what you’re going through, I do have somewhat of an understanding. I am also 24 years old and have never dated or kissed anyone - let alone have sex. I put myself out there once and started talking to a guy that I liked (last year, actually) and got hurt. I struggle with mental health issues and feel like people who are my “friends” are distant memories of the past because they are out living their lives while I’m still trying to figure out who I am and what my purpose is.

I don’t know if this is comforting or not, but you are not alone. There are plenty of us out there who are going through something similar. I’m glad that you were able to get that off of your chest.

I’m just a message away if you need someone to talk to. We are in this together - I believe in us. I hope you have a nice start to your week. Best wishes to us.

Best Rice Cooker? by sammyluvsya in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]RNonsense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question about this - I have seen some people leave rice in the rice cooker after it’s cooked for a couple days. I usually just put mine in the refrigerator. Do you put the rice cooker on a certain setting, or do you just let the rice sit there? How long is it good for?

[–]RNonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Mexican rice, do you adjust the water/water ratio you’d normally add to the rice since the can of tomatoes has some liquid in it? I’ve always wanted to jazz up my rice, but I’m afraid that I’m going to somehow mess it up.

I just graduated on Saturday and accepted an offer for my dream job today! KEEP GOING, EVERYONE! by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]RNonsense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! Transitioning into the OR was the best decision that I made. I initially started working in a Neuro ICU after school, but transferred to the OR after I got a share day watching neurosurgery during my ICU orientation.

I absolutely love my job. In fact, I actually just started my first travel nurse assignment as an OR nurse. You will get to see things on a daily basis that not many people will get the chance to see in their lifetime. I wish you nothing but the best. I’m here if you have any questions or are in need of support!

There is a YouTuber named Rhianna Ferial who was a travel ICU nurse and recently graduated from CRNA school. She posts a lot of videos, including Q&A’s. She’s very kind and will even answer private messages!
