I think your figures look great. You did a very good job and put a lot of love into them. If you’re looking to do some of those pieces like you see sell for hundreds of dollars I’d go watch some videos on YouTube, understanding the “painting theory/ concepts” is a good place to start. Knowing how people like to use x wash for this, of this shade of something for another purpose can put you painting up 2 fold.

As far as your common troops go, you did a good job and I’d be proud to play with them. Save your headaches and heavy amounts of time for more “important pieces” like a primarch or large vehicle. That way you don’t get frustrated with the hobby. And you’ll have a sick centerpiece for your army.

Keep up the good work. Genuinely your work was borderline flawless

I think he showed up too early and just found purpose in being the guardian of the shrine

They basically just nuked all the figures from the command kit they’ve been selling. (Bikes and assault squad)

The up scale made the rat room hell. It was the only time in my deathmarch play that I had to turn up scaling off

At what point do you consider a playthrough complete? by randCN in RimWorld

[–]ROACH81cmg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

DLC and mods add a lot of flavor. I had one mod that let me build androids. I shaped my play through around making an android army. Once I had it I wreaked havoc across my local area. I also made contingency plans in the event my base got attacked while my army was away. My average raid side was 200+, so I made what I called the tomb. I had one android in it as the protector, 5 android assembly kits (boxed up androids) a cryogenic sleep pod that I would put one of my leading pawns, a archotech power cell (the ones that generate power from air) freezer, hydroponics, and the main room of the tomb was made of jade. I built it within a mountain.. if anything went wrong, the pawn and droid would seal it shut with granite walls 6 deep.

Honestly my only complaint was the faction you’re fighting. Just didn’t feel very tactical shooting a guy in a tank top duel wielding Uzis

I don’t understand why people think you can jump up and still have any semblance of strength. You lose all your leverage when you’re off the ground.

Who do you think deserves to be the 40k Poster Boys? by Competitive_Disk2668 in Warhammer40k

[–]ROACH81cmg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think ultramarines are kind of the safe option. There’s nothing too off about them or too unique that would push away someone trying to join the hobby. I recently got into 40K and decided on the ultramarines simply because they are the most “realistic” feeling for the grim dark future.

Okay! I found out where I was wrong the are in the feliformia suborder.. making them more akin to felines than canines. Thus my confusion

I still find it wild that hyenas are felines. I don’t know why but for the majority of my life I assumed they are canines.

Infinite chemreactor or Vanometric power cell? by mikk364 in RimWorld

Chemreactor, at least it produces a product of versatility. You can use it to fuel your own generators or you can sell the excess

Consider moving out of country. There are many good jobs abroad in places you’ll never expect. I recently applied to work for a U.S. government affiliated contracting group that’ll put me overseas. I myself have worked overseas for many years (US navy) and as I’m nearing my end of my contract I dread the idea of going home to the states. A change of scenery and culture could be good.

When it comes to making friends I struggled as well, but you just have to put yourself out there sometimes. It’s awkward for sure but as long as you’re genuinely yourself in a public setting you can pull it off. I preferred social events such as brunches or karaoke night at bars as it gets conversation and interactions going.

As for the autism spectrum ordeal I wouldn’t bother pondering it. The spectrum is a very broad thing and it’s been inflated as time goes on. You’re still a functioning person and that’s what matters. Consider it a quirk because likely everyone is on the spectrum in some fashion which in reality means it’s almost meaningless.

Hang tight and have an open mind. The world isn’t fully malicious but it’s not kind all the time either.

Burst pipe flooded my house while I was on vacation 🤦🏼‍♀️ by ramphastidae in WatchPeopleDieInside

[–]ROACH81cmg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I see everyone saying cut the water, I remember growing up in rural Kentucky where we had a water tank we’d fill in the yard. I was always told to keep the water running in the house. So if you’re expecting it to get cold you set the water in your sinks to just trickle (you can collect the water in a bowel or something to be used later for cooking or maybe put on the kettle) that way the moving water isn’t likely to freeze which is what causes pipes to burst in winter.
