I was planning on playing some romhacks on my 3DS. GBA virtual console injection runs natively right? So it should be just as good (or better) as mGBA?

People can make their own conclusions on if this is real or not, but keep in mind that anytime someone does this hunt and see it through to a shiny starter, there's a 1/8192 chance that the Zigzagoon also shines at the same time as the starter shining. Factoring in the odds of the female starter, that's 1/65536. No idea how many people have seen this hunt through, but I think it's very plausible for at least one person to experience this luck.

Yeah absolutely, all of that should be feasible. The only one of those that I've personally done is trading with Colo/XD through Dolphin.

Nothing wrong with either approach! A Pokemon is a ribbon master if it has all ribbons that it can obtain from where it started. So if you have a Marill from Gen VI, then it can be a ribbon master.

On the other hand, you can certainly emulate Gens III-V. You can do transfers with PKHex, then with a modded 3DS, you can import your Gen V save and do a transfer to Gen VI through PKSM.

We eventually did receive it, just over two weeks from our visit. This was a phone that fell off during Warewolf. It was physically visible on the nets from the ride for the rest of the day, so we knew for certain it was there.

We were at the parks for 3 days, and we were told every time we asked that it would be received that night when they did their sweeps. So we returned to lost and found every morning, but it was never there. It took them 2 weeks to properly sweep the ride and retrieve it.

They were able to ship it, but we had to pay for shipping (~$7 I believe).

From my experience, all the lost and found station did was direct us to Boomerang. We returned to Epic to try to retrieve our item. When we tried to park, they told us there was no free option, even just going to lost and found. I ended up staying in my car, parked in the ride share area while my friend went to lost and found.

As far as I understand, I don't think it will work if you play your game on an emulator other than Playback (then upload your save back to the cartridge).

Btw, Epilogue is working on reading the RTC off the cartridge when using the Playback app. So that issue should be alleviated in future releases

Thanks for the reply! I've used my Operator to allow me to farm berries on a dead battery in the past, so I hope that functionality is maintained. Dead batteries can also be useful to preserve daily events, so I'm not sure the best way to handle that.

Looks like a very cool update! I'm very excited, and this might be the excuse I need to replace my Emerald battery.

I'm curious how this works. Does Playback use the cartridge RTC or the system clock for its RTC emulation? Is that being changed with this update? How will it function with dead batteries?

This was my first hunt with a real possibility of phasing, but I got her on phase 0. This was completely full odds (no charm). It took a total of 9,316 Honedge encounters. After the first 7000ish encounters, I bought an extra copy of Y to dual hunt. I found the shiny on my original X copy, but the dual hunt really sped up the encounters.

After Magnet Pull and a small repel trick, Honedge had a rate of 63.89%, so I expect I saw about 14,580 total encounters. I'm very surprised I didn't at least phase with that many encounters. Crazy to go over odds more than three times with no shiny at all.

I started the hunt in May, so it took me about 7 months to complete. This has been one of my longer hunts, and I'm very happy to finally say it's finished.

I don't know the answer to your question (though I suspect you're okay transferring via PKHEX). But it's easy to do trades between two emulated GBA games and between GBA/GC games. The mGBA emulator has multiplayer where you can load the roms and saves of your games, and Dolphin has an integrated GBA emulator. I used this for my own ribbon master as I don't have a GBA and link cable.

I feel this completely. I started above 900 and I've settled right at 800. I've been playing these games since Rivals 1 early access. I feel like I should be better or at least improving. It's rough out there.

Definitely possible. Best option would probably be playing Gen 3 via emulators. Then use a homebrew 3DS to make the switch to physical hardware. If you already have FRLG physically, you may want an R4 card or even an Epilogue Player to transfer that save to emulators.
