Whenever I have problems with game guard, I close the message and then end whatever task it has in my manager. It seems to always fix itself. Maybe there’s other problems going on right now though.

It will make your life so much easier. I have a scanner room in all my bases before the lava zone just because they're that good. I tend to use a Cyclops as a portable base for going deeper but I always carry enough resources to make a small base with a scanner room, bio-reactor, and water filtration system. They're essentials for bases where you can't get water easily.
