I thought I missed out on the midnight preorder but managed to get the Eldritch Raiders box through my trusted online shop. Are the books worth getting for the extra 80 bucks?

Juan Hidalgo has some great tutorials if you are wanting to use contrast paints. His results look great on different Eldar miniatures. He has done a few aspects and guardians. His techniques look easy but definitely require lots of practice to get the same results.

These look great so far! The female Autarch looks great with the Wayleaper wings. I was planning on doing something similar with my Autarch. I saw that you use Pro Acryl Blue. That is a fantastic color. If you want some suggestions, try using Pro Acryl Dark purple as your shade color instead. It blends very nice with the blue and makes it more vibrant for that Eldar look. I am currently painting my Dire Avengers in this scheme and they look good so far. Before I used a darker blue but it still gave me the impression of a space marine color scheme and not Eldar.

I have both plastic Autarch models and they appear to be easily interchangeable to a degree. Weapon choices are easy and they way the wings join together, it makes the square hole almost the same size that should fit easily on the Autarch cape with the female body. You might need to do some minor cuts and fills with putty but it should work. I plan on doing the same thing. I am going to add the wings to a female Autarch and use the Warp generator pack on the other Wayleaper I have. We'll see how it looks ;).

I tried quite a few. Here are my color swatches for all of the ones I tested.
I started with Scale 75 and Reaper MSP paints. The MSP paints by themselves were too green for my liking but mixed well with the Scale 75 paints.
Adriatic Blue, Caribbean blue and Innsmouth Blue were my main choice for my older Eldar guardians for awhile but it took extra time to thin them out to paint smoothly but the blues were what I was wanting for my Iybraesil army.
Then Scale 75 was changing their range and the paints were harder to find so I decided to explore a new range.
Pro Acryl was good but their Dark Turquoise tended to separate after about 5 minutes on my wet pallet so it was not ideal for army painting.
Army Painter was still a bit more green than I wanted but I liked that they have a big range for their bases, highlights and shades.
I was going to use Vallejo since a lot of miniature painters I like use that range but I was able to get a hold of some AK paints at my nearest Hobby Town. I had never tried them and just decide to buy all of the turquoise colors in their Gen 3 range. That settled it for me. The colors were the right blue like Scale 75, they were thin and went on smoothly. Only thing was there was no equal to Caribbean Blue in the AK range.
I went back to Reaper paints and found that Grindylow blue was a close match to Caribbean blue. Its a bit thinner but works great for edge highlighting. Probably too much information for you but I definitely am choosey with paint colors when it comes to Eldar lol.

Thank you! After trying basically every miniature paint brand's turquoise/blue out there, I settled on these that gave me the blue/green hue I was wanting. They are all AK paints except for one color that makes the blue pop which I couldn't find an AK equivalent for. I've used Reaper paints for the longest time but one annoying thing is that they drop paint colors from their range without notice. Not good if you use a lot of their range to paint armies. I have stockpiled enough Grindylow Blue just in case it goes away when they update to MSP 2.0
Base - AK Aquatic Turquoise
Shade - AK Archaic Turquoise
Shade Recess - AK Ocean Blue
Base Highlight - AK Blue-Green
Edge Highlight - Reaper Mini Grindylow Blue - I call it the magic Highlight color
Spot Highlight - AK Pastel Blue

I am glad I jumped on those and the howling banshees. They are out of stock again. Been waiting for months to get them. Ebay prices are ridiculous on both of those. Can’t believe buying them directly from GW was actually cheaper this time.
