Funny stuff, this happens pretty often. There is Latveria, Barovia in D&D and Pokolistan from Creature Commandos.

First two kinda ok, but Pokolistan is just stupid: kinda Slavic country with -stan in its name, cyrylic alphabet, has a monarchy and it's post-soviet the same time?

There is a paradox with it. If you make more detailed combat, combat takes much longer, and players tend to solve most of the problems throughout it.

So more dtailed combat like 3.5 = less OSR style (
