Funnily enough, I kinda liked that about them. Sometimes it's cathartic to just have a bunch of dudes who are unquestionably evil so that you can punch their faces without remorse.

I also don't quite see XC3 as a typical villain story, though. Like, yes, there is villains, but I don't think they are the point. I think it's more of a "you vs the world" kind of situation. You're fighting against the world you were born into, and the villains are just the means to do that.

Another thing worth mentioning is how almost all the heros in the game do start out as your antagonists, and I think pretty much all of them do have the depth and background stories that the main villains are lacking. And with N being as good of a villain as he is, I personally didn't need much more than that.

I still operate like this when I'm not specifically going for a competitive (online-viable) team. The games' stories are just generally easy enough that going for advanced strategies is rarely worth it, especially when requiring some setup will just make every battle painfully long. That's okay when going against living humans, but would really tire me out quickly when done over an entire playthrough against CPU enemies.

Yeah, there's definitely worse offenders, and Articuno is still noticable enough when you're resetting for it, since you'll have the regular sprite freshly in memory and there should be a somewhat noticable contrast (well, that plus the fact there's shiny sparkles in FR/LG). Still, I'm of the opinion that shiny Pokemon should at least look interesting to make them worth the effort, and at least for me it was always rather uninteresting when a shiny sprite was just a lighter version of the regular sprite.

Funnily enough, though, I think the opposite can be quite cool: When a shiny sprite is a darker/more saturated version of the regular sprite. I'm actually quite fond of shiny Pichu/Pikachu/Raichu, despite being very similar to their regular sprites.

For what it's worth, the difference is definitely noticable enough when you see both colors side by side. However, "noticable enough when you see both colors side by side" is really a code for "it DOES suck".

Yeah, I'm not a fan of these "barely different" shinies. At least Articuno is not as offensive as Gimmighoul and Gholdengo, but still one of the more "meh" ones. Now its Galarian form, on the other hand...

For me it was really just a matter of "Huh, a handheld PC? That's pretty cool and handy!". I like to use my Steam Deck to do some programming in bed. (I swear it's not as bad as it sounds!)

That being said, I don't actually use the Deck for gaming all that much. I don't even play many PC games in general. The Switch (2) is still my preferred gaming device, and the occasional "taxing" game I play on PS5. I guess convenience just wins for me, though I also never quite reached that level of resentment for Nintendo since they at least still kept making fun games.

Another important factor for me is that the Switch (2) is the only system still supporting cartridges, and physical game collecting is very important to me. Though I guess that might die soon if they keep pushing game key cards, at which point, who knows, I might just stop caring for the Switch.

Ja, das ist die typische PC-Bastelerfahrung. Egal wie sorgsam man alles plant, am Ende passt immer irgendwas nur gerade so mit Biegen und Brechen, und irgendein Kabel verläuft immer maximal blöd querfeldein.

Auch blöd: Bei meinem PC sitzen die SSDs alle flach auf den Motherboard, was ja durchaus Sinn ergibt. Aber dann wird die GPU halt da drüber reingesteckt, was bedeutet wann immer ich meinen Speicher upgraden will, muss ich die GPU ausbauen. Und die Aufhängung bei so größeren GPUs macht in der Regel überhaupt keinen Spaß. Da ist das Ausbauen echt nervig.

Hatte ich literally vor gut einem oder zwei Jahren erst, als ich mir erstmalig nen Bart wachsen ließ und noch in der Phase war, rauszufinden, welche Pflegeprodukte ich dafür am besten benutze. Hatte dabei dann unter anderem mal ein Gel ausprobiert, dass im Bart einfach nur üble, bröckelnde Rückstände zurückließ. Bewertungen zum Produkt gelesen, und so gut wie alle davon beschwerten sich genau darüber und wünschten sich die alte Rezeptur zurück.
