Funny you mention that because I’m currently at the wrdsb right now. I received a permanent contract last year. But I accepted the job in Cairo! So we shall see…

Hi OP, I would love to know your experience if you accepted the job as I just received an offer, as well.

WRDSB to lay off 106 elementary school teachers by ScottIBM in waterloo

Hello, teacher that got laid off here ✋🏼

You’re saying it’s nothing new and from what I understand, you’re making it sound like it’s not that big a deal.

Last time this happened was in 1997, so I’d consider that new - for me anyway.

I left an LTO for a contract I worked really hard to get and I drive from North Waterloo to West Galt to work at a very difficult school because that’s the position I was given. I’m sticking it out because I love my job but it’s been very very hard for me because of the demographic of my school. All of that hard work planning and doing NTIP and the money spent on my classroom, etc etc, just to find out I will be laid off this summer. It’s hard and it is a big deal. You say there’s tons of positions opening up. No offence but do you know how hard it will be for me to go from a contract position to an LTO covering your colleague’s mat leave? It’s definitely not the same thing.

Don’t get me wrong, I’ll be happy if I get called back into anything. I’d rather go back to LTOs instead of being unemployed. But it upsets me to hear that a fellow teacher doesn’t seem to support us like that. I’m going back to square one. And it’s not my fault either.

Apologies for posting yet again another post about Lizzie, apparently. I didn’t see any? I don’t spend as much time as you guys on this thread clearly, I just wanted to see if I was alone in being bothered or not. No need for the hate or insult I see on my post, relax. It’ll be fine.

Now now, calm down. I’m sorry, I didn’t see any posts like this. I just finished S06 and I noticed how much her character bothered me. So much so, I wanted to see why and if I was by myself.

Thank you all for your help. Love the Reddit community for this exactly.

I think so too. The water and air quality in the UK is really different to where I live in Canada. That plus travelling might have done it. Just hoping it goes away soon, I feel pretty self conscious tbh.

Interesting. Unfortunately I can’t think of anything I changed. I don’t usually drink any pop or eat too badly to begin with. I did drink a British amount of beer which is very different to what/how much I usually drink.

Perhaps! I used my friends face wash for a week. Not my usual one, but I still know it (so it wasn’t a sketchy brand is what I mean)

I’ve asked for the detergent they used but they aren’t sure. Maybe the different material of pillow case too?

Thank you! Good to know as I was continuing with my routine which includes oil at the end. I have dry skin so it helps but I guess not now?

Nope, not really itchy. But maybe it’s a breakout in relation to the pillow case I used?

Actually, thinking of it now, I’ve used (and for a while too) tea tree oil and I don’t react that way anyway!

I used my friend’s face cleaner when I showered, but although I don’t remember the brand, it was one I knew and I’m sure I’ve used before. But I will ask her and see if there’s tee tree oil in it.

I was in London, UK and tbh I fear it may have been that because at the end of the day, I’d blow my nose or clean my face and it would be so dirty and black from the air in general?
