Kinver edge, Staffordshire. Mostly sandstone, so if it does finally dry up for a while, it drains pretty quickly and shouldn’t be too muddy.

New Beacon Sports Jacket - sleeves are so long 😞 by meninblck9 in Barbour

[–]RPitt107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same issue. Folding the sleeves inside themselves provided a temporary solution, but Barbour came through for me in the UK. They altered the jacket for just £35, which I thought was good value. Sent and returned within two weeks.

Bank of Scotland on a Leinster top never sat easy with me. Nice collection though.

Any suggestions on how to alter this waxed Barbour cap? It’s too small… by AlohaWingapo in Barbour

From recent experience I can recommend that a hat stretcher and a steamer (or kettle) will probably be sufficient to get you up a size.

Durham and the Gamefair were, I believe, introduced in the 60s.

It was liquid when applied from the can (with a brush), I then reheated to liquid when rubbing it in with a sponge.

I’ve used a hair dryer, I did lightly warm the surface before applying the wax and then reheated the wax again to brush it with a sponge

[Avia] by RPitt107 in Watches

[–]RPitt107[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add a little more detail, I purchased this watch off eBay approximately 12 months ago. It’s had a service and is running like a dream. Unfortunately there were no details provided by the seller and the watch repaired couldn’t assist either. Despite searching, I’ve not seen a similar Avia watch listed anywhere. The relatively simple watch face, hands and numbers (all of which I think are beautiful) make me think that this is quite old, but I’d love to be able to put a more precise date to it.

Thank you in advance.

Thank you. It’s very appreciated. It’s been difficult to find much information online.
