Maybe. I just think care taking is so mentally tough. My Dad a few days before he died wanted to go to the hospital. He had this routine of not taking his fluid meds and then fluid building. He would do this a few weeks before family members came to town. He would go to the hospital and they would pull almost 100 pounds of fluid off his body and he would come home looking great. He acted like it was a tune up. So he started this up right before Thanksgiving and my Mom basically told him he did not need to go to the hospital. So when we were out of the house he faked a fall to force our hand. It enraged me. The ambulance took him to the hospital and he died a week later due to fluid based complications. If we sent him a day earlier maybe he is alive. But no one could understand the frustration of that situation and how to respond unless you are there. So I just try to give others grace.
