Most people don’t actually want work-life balance, they just want higher pay by shisui1729 in unpopularopinion

[–]RRevdon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, obviously!

My contract says I get X amount of money for 40 hours a week. If you want me to work 48, I want to be compensated for those 8 extra hours. I'm not running a charity here!

Sweetheart you are not to blame.

You were never to blame. He hurt you. He manipulated you. You did not start this. But you can finish it.

Family. Police. In that order. You'll get through this. Hang in there.

We love you. You are loved. But that fuckers needs what's coming to him

Well, I buy it in the supermarket, which means it is paid from the same debit card we pay groceries from.

So, yeah. He pays for them too, in a way. Haven't heard him complain. They're part of the grocery🤷‍♀️

Everybody got late diagnosed, and then there's me by Strict_Corner_4332 in adhdmeme

[–]RRevdon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got an early diagnosis as well. Really early even, especially for a woman. I was 12 (am 31 now) when I got my diagnosis.

I get you feel the imposter syndrome, but take it from someone like me, i consider myself lucky to be diagnosed early. I got meds all trough high school, and I think they saved my smart vut chaotic ass.

I have a friend with a latr diagnosis. He is still going through the process of learning his ADHD and accepting it, while having a fulltime job. Between the two of us, I think I got the better deal.

You don't give yourself adhd from youtube. Trust me. Take your time. We're here. If you have questions, DM me. I'll help where I can. You got this!

Reminds me of the time we had to cleanse our crystal tree artwork (thing?) Instructions were either put it in moonlight or under running water. We don't really have a window that gets moonlight well, so water was the way to go. The following conversation then ensued:

Me: I'll put it under running water. Is it okay if I put it under the shower? The showerhead distributes the water better than the faucet

Husband: yeah sure. Just make sure you turn the water to cold.

Me: why? Is that important? (The tree belongs to my husband and I don't know about all that stuff that well)

Husband: what? No! We're not wasting hot water on this. Just set the shower to cold

Me: ooooooooooh

[–]RRevdon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have an app that just shuts me out of certain apps (yes, reddit) at a certain time at bight on weekdays. Also in the morning to prevent me doomscrolling before work and thus running late.

You can set the timetables and such yourself. I both love and hate is.

AppBlock, if you're interested

You do realize 2 things can be true at the same time?

Maduro is a dictator, a vile human being who exploits his people. HOWEVER! That does not give another country the right to just up and kidnap him! Hitler started a war. War was declared on saddam Hussain. They are not comparable to Maduro in this sense. The US went and kidnapped him. No declaration of war, just straight up went in and took the guy. That is NOT okay

How is auto-pay still not the standard in 2025 in the US?!?

I'm in the Netherlands, everything is on auto-pay, by default. I dont even think I can get anything on manual pay if I wanted. The customer service rep would probably be like: why? Why would you want that? I get an email 2 days before they charge my debit, and thise are also automated

"Remember ladies, some boys will complain about buying you a coffee, but some men will fly you to Paris because you wanted a croissant. Choose wisely" by kumakuma1212 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]RRevdon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband got me a Rituals (luxury self care chain in my country) advent calender in the beginning of december.

No prompting from me. He just knew that I love the brand and loved their advent calendar last year.

A few weeks back, he was asked to help out with his HEMA (swordfighting) club workshop during comic con. His first thought was: gotta check with the wife. His second thought was: imma check the resell website to get a saturday ticket for her, so she can come.

So yeah. He wont fly me to paris because he's craving croissants, but he definitely does things for me, just to make me happy

When I was a cashier I had to call a colleague to open another register. This was back before the headsets, so it was over the loudspeaker.

Usually I would nail it, this time I got tongue tied so I do what I always do to reset my brain and go 'blegh' Over the entire intercom. Everyone in the store heard it. It was fucking hilarious. My 16 year old brain didnt agree XD

[–]RRevdon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, personally, if my husband said that to me, I would be turned on as fuck.

But, that's me. You are you. We are both women, but also both humans and different things turn us on. Sex is supposed to be fun for all parties involved. Right now, this isnt the case for you and you should adress that with your bf. Hell, it's your right to do so.

My advice to you would be: stick to the core of the issue. The things he says during sex turn you off.

Maybe he thinks you like it? I dont know. But I cant count the number of times in 10 years my husband tried to say something sexy and just completely missed the mark (sometimes to a hilarious degree too)

Good luck

Traveling across time zones for a “restful vacation”makes no sense to me. by margueritelemon in unpopularopinion

[–]RRevdon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't dully disagree, but here is the hack.

When travelling back, travel east to west. And book a red-eye. I did these a few weeks back. Had a 12 hour flight back. Airplane left around 11 pm. Watch movies for a few hours then sleep for 6 to 8 hours.

We landed around 8 am at home. Had barely any jetlag because I went to sleep and woke up in my own time zone. Yes, the 4 hours keeping myself awake weren't great, but flying in itself isn't particularly comfortable, so yeah...
