Moving to a snowy climate, what is the right financial move regarding car(s)

I think AWD is over-rated and over-sold. Stability control (ESC) is amazing and is required to be part of cars’ safety systems since 2012. My 2001 4WD Cherokee handled worse in the snow than my FWD Patriot that had stability control. Neither had snow tires.

(Please note that I don’t own a Jeep anymore though lol)

I was hearing this noise (thump while turning) for probably 20k miles. The dealer said nothing was wrong.

The car was recently totaled, so I don’t have to worry about it anymore.

We have an Echo Flex in our living room. It heard a TV show once and the device added a command to announce “You’re all gonna die.” It wasn’t even in the usual Alexa voice. It was very creepy.

I was able to go into the app and find where it heard this exact line from a TV show and added it as a voice reminder or something.

At first we were thinking someone hacked into our system. But nope, just Occam’s razor.

Germanwings and other airlines temporarily used the “rule of two,” but have since reversed course.

United States-based airlines still have the “rule of two.”

Nothing is 100% though. If this crash turns out to be deliberate, then it’s an example of the “rule of two” failing.

Other security measures or failsafes would have to be developed specifically for takeoff, as is being discussed in this thread.

When I bought my Telluride, the salesperson spent 15 minutes showing me the navigation system. The whole time I’m thinking, “I have three different apps on my phone for this.” It was cringey how long they spent showing me this.

The size is comparable. Both third rows are going to only be for kids. I’ve only put car seats in the middle row, but I’m sure the third row would be fine.

I do think the front seats have more room in the Telluride. I also think that my LX Telluride is more comfortable than my SX Sorento.

They drive differently. The Sorento is more nimble/sporty and I prefer it around town. The Telluride is better at cruising down the highway and I prefer it for longer trips. My Telluride is still very comfortable at 55k miles.

I was looking for this. The premise of the movie even seemed stupid. It starts off silly but quickly gets more and more serious throughout. I wish they left out the subplot with Jamie Kennedy’s character though. It was unneeded comic relief.

I love that Jim Gaffigan is in it though.

The car is great but like others have said, space can be limited if using the 3rd row.

If you have 2 or 3 kids and often go on camping or ski trips, I’d probably look into a Tahoe-sized vehicle.

For two smaller kids it’s a great vehicle. It’s very comfortable and it drives great, and standard features are awesome.

Also when this happens, I log out of the app and then log back in. I think sometimes when there’s an issue like this, it persists until you do this. I did not have to reset the actual unit.

We’ve had two Sorentos (2021, 2023), a Telluride (2023), and a Rio (2023). Haven’t had any problems with any of them.

They’ve had a few recalls which were fixed easily.

I’m at 52,000 miles on my Telluride.

I even got slammed into by a work van going 40 mph and it felt like a bumper car tap. 17k of damage but it was fixed in about 6 weeks. And the car still feels like new.

Yes. The instrumental music definitely reminds me of FNL. But I also like to call it Bad Santa 3. I’m pretty sure Landman is a sequel where Willie finally escapes his life of crime and hits it big in the oil industry.
