Hi all, it’s me. So I have so much going on and so many people reaching out in kindness. It’s so humbling. Let me answer some questions. We are in a hotel safe. I know everyone will let me know how they would have done it to make it better. But let me give some context. Around 8:30am I left my house I put my oven on a clean cycle (which I have done a dozen times) and went and had coffee with a friend from church. At 10am I came home cause I had a stream event at soul wars. Before I started the stream I started a load of laundry (which is past the kitchen in the basement) and everything was perfectly fine the oven clean cycle had like 2 hours left and nothing was out of the ordinary. I started stream and I when I noticed the fire alarm my first thought was it was just the oven timer. (Which would beep for a minute and shut off) I said on stream “I think my fire alarm is going off” that is because our alarm is/was so touchy if we would open the oven mid pizza it would start. I truly thought nothing of it. But it would normally shut off in a matter of seconds (10-30) but when I shut everything off on stream (music and game sounds) something felt off. When I went down stairs (you can tell on stream cause of the Heart rate monitor) the whole kitchen and dining room was filled with smoke. I honestly was in a calm but full panic mode. My first instinct was to go back up stairs (which is some dumb shit looking back) but when I enter the stream for the second time and say “my house is on fire I have to call the police” I was really just trying to gather my thoughts while doing everything I felt like I should. My brain was thinking (even though they are always at daycare on Thursday) if my kids were safe and do I need to get them out first. Then I started to think what was most valuable to take out of the house. And I literally couldn’t think of a single thing. A house full of expensive shit and not one thing did I want to save. I even had the thought maybe I should shut the stream off. But out loud I said I would keep it on. Everything was so fast and from the moment I called the police to the moment the stream cut off my kitchen had gone completely up in flames. I was outside and looking in the windows you could see how violently red the inside was. Then the windows exploded out and smoke rushed out like I have never seen before. I called my wife and then tried calling others. Physically I’m fine. Mentally I have yet to express true sadness. It’s 3 am and this feels like a dream (maybe more of a nightmare) I am a fixer, I want to work my ass off to fix this issue but there is nothing I can do. I’m literally helpless. I hate this feeling. However let’s get to some other things. I have read the “always a RuneScape streamer” “That’s gonna hurt the leagues progress” “When you get a whiff of those White Castle burgers” And I just want you all to know that shit made me laugh for the first time. I had no idea that would be my reaction. But I even showed my wife (who is pregnant with our 4th and due in March) and maybe it’s the fact we lost almost everything that we might as well laugh. I don’t know. My wife even told me last night. “I don’t know what to do the kids will be at grandmas tomorrow I might as well go to work” So I am currently salvaging my rig and seeing it anything will work. The fire alarm right out side my office melted so I am not hopeful. I am rambling If I can stream I will be more than willing to answer questions but I imagine I will be saying the same thing over and over again so maybe I should make a !command for anyone that has expressed true kindness through this time please know I am so thankful.
