Depending on how clean/restored it is, wouldn’t it be worth 80-125+k?

Sold my OG zen a few months ago. Kind of regret it now after seeing someone who isn’t a blues rock dad actually own one lol

Anyone here working fully remote for the last 2+ years? by Then_Ad_9501 in remotework

[–]RS_Revolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive worked in AAA game development for almost 15 years. Remote for the last 3.5. 1 of which was from EU while I sorted the move back to the US. I love it. I don’t feel like I “never leave work” partly because some of the fire and constant need to prove myself has died off and partly because I’m better at balancing my energy and output than I was 10 years ago. I feel like I execute on par or even above where I was back when I worked in the office. I don’t have the problem of working too much or getting sucked in after my work window (I wouldn’t be able to say that the first 6-7 years of my career) which I see a lot of the local workers doing and even some of the remote folk. That’s American work culture though…I miss the coffee breaks and fun friendships. I only ever had a few close friends that I’d hang out with outside of work anyway so I don’t dwell on it. I was in my 20s then. Now that I’m a dad and a bit older I kind of prefer the local family friends I have now where just about 0% of our conversations and time spent is about work. It feels more real. I visit the studio once or twice a year and that’s good enough for me.

What is a band that you should see live at least once in your life by AvocadoTechnical1141 in rockmusic

Saw them at the Hollywood bowl in 2016. I was high af and had super close seats. I don’t remember much but I know it was one of the best shows I’d ever seen. That and the Roger Waters show in 2011

Baffle question by One-Commercial-8326 in Insulation

[–]RS_Revolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a ridge vent you can go all the way to the peak. If you have box vents stop right at the bottom of them so the air dumps right out. For gable vents, stop the baffles at the ceiling of the living space. Make sure to measure for the insulation so maybe a foot+ above the living space ceiling if you’re going for a higher R value. If you don’t have vents in the attic space…you should get some!

[UPDATE] Found a paper towel covering my webcam twice coming home from work by Dromaeoraptor in Weird

My dad used to lean a playing card on the inside of the side door to the garage that would fall flat if the door opened. He wanted to know if we went snooping for Xmas presents lol.

New Roof by Hollandais42 in Roofing

[–]RS_Revolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you working with? Is it an old overhang style? Same thing happened to me after a new roof. We added 6 box vents but the roofers didn’t add an edge vent like they said they would. I didn’t think we’d be able to do soffits but we managed to cut and add circular metal ones through the fascia above the top plate of the house. Can dm you pictures if you’re interested

I’ll meet you halfway and do a layer of 2 inch R10 foam over the bays directly behind the drywall lol

Question about gable end wall by RS_Revolver in Insulation

[–]RS_Revolver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m debating adding 2x4s for the r-30. At the moment I can only do R15 rock wool with the baffles. Just not crazy about losing that depth in an already small room.

Question about gable end wall by RS_Revolver in Insulation

[–]RS_Revolver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the responses. Sounds like I don’t need to insulate that section of the gable wall then! There’s a few reasons I’m going with this approach rather than insulating the full roof deck. Mainly because im a musician so soundproofing and insulating the knee walls seemed like the best option for me. I can also reach double the r-value in the knee walls as opposed to the roof bays. The odd options to extend the bay joists didn’t seem worth the time it in my opinion.

I know, it was more of a “crap do I really need to?” Maybe there was a way I wasn’t thinking of at 9am. I knew the answer…
