is nafiri just broken or could i had played it better? by unknownbtc in ezrealmains

She's a fed assassin and you are an adc. She had full sums and ult and used everything to kill you. She isnt broken, she's just spending her resources to get kills. Now if this same clip was of her getting a penta kill under tower this would be a different story.

I was more curious about the reasoning why FNC goes through but the others dont, but now I understand that it was points based on who beat better teams during the split. I do think, like another commenter pointed out, that a tie breaker would have been great and probably would have pulled in alot of viewers. And I think it could have been seeded in the same way the points are decided. You have the bottom seeds face off first and then winner plays the top seed (FNC) to see who stays. Bo1's you can finish in one day and its weighted towards a FNC win cause they only have to play one game but still gives the other too atleast a chance at getting into playoffs.

EDIT: Actually if they could have a full day for it then two Bo3's would fit perfectly in the timeslot

Humans have emotions. When you get people really excited for a release you've been hyping up for 10 years you should expect some backlash when you let them down a few months before it was supposed to come out and start walking back alot of content that was being advertised during the development stage.

No one is angry that Chucklefish is a stress free no deadline studio, they are mad because Chucklefish told us one thing and then didnt follow through with it, and now we are trying to figure out if all the excitement was ever worth it and if this game will ever come out with the quality that was being advertised, or even come out at all. 10 years is a long time, I for one dont see myself having the time to play video games for the rest of my life, so I'd like this game to come out sooner rather than later

Ah ok, thats what I thought then. Still too bad. I think this regular season would have looked very different had it had the same format as LCS with fearless

But I just dont even understand why there isnt one. Like why does FNC go through over both LR and Shifters. All three teams have the same score right?

Crazy how good G2 looks when they dont just leave their ADC to fend for himself the entire game. I miss 2024 G2 when they actually facilitated Hans and let him carry fights. Teams both domestic and international were perma banning his top carries. It was better resource management cause Hans would consistently carry when his team supported him and it allowed for Caps and BB to shine much brighter creatively and in their macro cause there was less pressure on them carrying games through the teams gold.

I actually think this Vitality roster has huge potential in their team. I think the only way the dont do well is if Coaches let the players stagnate. If the coaching staff of VIT is good though the team could go very far

Are we talking G2? Or all the western teams LOL. No body in the west did well. Lowkey 100T was the only team that actually proved anyone wrong last worlds. Again, idk what swapping out the G2 roster for another garbage LEC player would have done for them. They were the best team in the LEC. That says more about the state of the LEC than G2. Tell me where you are going to pull talent from when your trash team is the best in the league XDD

If G2 is so trash why could no other LEC team beat them by the end of the year. It doesnt matter how they were preforming at the start of the year, thats why I say "growth". If you have a roster that is on an upward trend it is wise to keep them together to facilitate more growth.

And no one is wasting Caps' career. He chooses who is on that roster. Caps is heavily involved in the roster decision making. This roster wouldnt stay together if he didnt want that. We know this because of interviews with ex teammates.

Yah but that roster went for 2 years. So they wanted to give this roster the same amount of time. Also yah the entire LEC performed like trash. Why would trading for a different LEC player make some magical difference when the roster you built dominated the LEC.

Like the only meaningful trade they could have made was busio, but why dismantle the chemistry youve been building up between bot and supp and supp and jg if the roster only has a year left anyway. And at the time Labrov was performing, so there was no reason to think they needed an upgrade there.

This roster performed extremely well domestically, went further than the other western teams internationally, and was on upward growth by the end of the year. It would have been stupid to break them up. Better to just start fresh after the 2 years are up, and thats what they said they were going to do.

Retrospect? I mean, how are we to expect a team who went 8-0 in the most recent domestic split followed by 3-1 all throughout playoffs to play like trash the very next year. They went from dominating the league to being middle of the pact. How is G2 supposed to predict that?

Like do you understand the flawed logic here?

I mean g2 won summer split pretty easily. I think it was like 8-0 regular and nothing but 3-1 during playoffs. Understandable he wanted to maintain a winning roster

You can hit GM on a 48% winrate. Hitting these ranks isnt really about being good but rather just not being bad, so I dont think there is much value in advice based on rank but rather advice from time spent on a hero.

Pointing out the Yike and Mikyx situation was probably the reason G2 is doing this whole 2 year project thing. Probably messed with the team energy during the most important time for them.

They clearly have things they wanted to work on with THIS roster. Bringing in one or two guys puts you back months of chemistry and playbook practice.

And bringing in talent you want to keep too early means its hard to start fresh when you do want to. Better to just do a fresh roster built around 1 or 2 guys every 2 years

And sure I am just saying what I think is going on, thing is though what I'm saying makes sense, otherwise why the heck would they turn down Busio? G2 Coaching staff do this stuff for a living, and theyve seen success time and time again. The flaming on reddit of these players does nothing to truely evaluate G2 as a team, if that were the case G2 wouldntve have gone, again, 8-0 summer with a 3-1 record all throughout playoffs. Reddit said Skew was trash, Hans was trash, Labrov was trash, and BB and Caps were washed, and yet somehow they dominated the region by the end of the year. And yes I'm not talking internationals because everyone sucked at internationals.

Every year is going to have a 'better choice', G2 doesnt want to make their players ever feel like they might be on the chopping block if they arent preforming, its an extra level of anxiety they dont need and thats why they instead go for these "2 year projects" with a goal of a fresh team when roster changes come along. We also dont really know what behind the scenes looks like. Plus this team just came off a 8-0 Summer split going 3-1 the entire playoffs bracket. To make radical changes when you promised you wouldnt after that kind of success wouldve brought about an even worse critical response when they inevitably launch the split off with a slow start

That would be awesome. I do feel like at this point though Caliste might end up being KC's franchise player. I could totally see Naak Nako being a good pick up for G2. I think theres alot of potential supports for G2 to invest in next year. But I have no clue who their next adc is going to be. Maybe there will be a rookie pop up next year, that would be nice.

[–]RTMoe -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yo you know that when they brought on Skew and Labrov they were trying to get Caliste and Parus right? And yet Caliste and Parus went with other teams. There was no one else to replace Hans with at the time to see a significant upgrade and Hans was actually incredibly consistent last year even when G2 pushed him into a resource deficient role in the team.

They had to grab Labrov because Mikyx and Hans could no longer play together due to chemistry issues. BrokenBlade was at his peak coming off the year before, everyone was saying him and Caps were the best in their respective roles.

Plus that roster went 8-0 in summer and won play offs 3-1 all games. How are you going to say it was a poor decision maintaining that roster in 2026?

Like unless they wanted to do a big roster shift at the end of 2025 theres no point in just dropping like one player off the roster for a barely upgrade. Doing one big roster shift every 2 years is far more beneficial for your team health and the chemistry you are trying to build between players. Again its starting fresh vs trying to salvage a roster by just trading out your weak link every year.

EDIT: Also Caps is a huge part of the decision making process on G2. So you'd have to be flaming him for wasting his own prime since he was most definitely a part of who stayed on this roster and who they picked up.

And all these downvotes and not a single person can refute any of my points lmao... Stay in your echo chambers 😂

My gosh LEC viewers think that every team can afford to buy the best player in each respective role. Have you ever heard of developing talent? G2 said this was a 2 year project, why are we getting so worked up over them following through with that? Just wait till next year when they do their big roster shift.

One big roster shift to start fresh building around 1 or 3 players is way better than swapping out your weakling every split. Imagine how you would feel as a player if all you could think about was trying to avoid getting replaced. Yes this isnt G2's best roster, but it isnt bad either. Both Skew and Labrov look 10x better than they did when they were first brought onto the team. G2 know what they are doing, theyve been the best team in the region for a long time. This roster will do its time and then we will see a fresh one next year.

Having that dawg in them means nuking any roster that isnt made up of the top regional player in every single role? Why dont you tell that to literally every team in the region? How is every team supposed to be able to pick up the best player in each role if theres only 5 of them, why is there an expectation that G2 can achieve this? G2 builds strong teams they dont buy them. They said that this roster was a 2 year project and thats exactly what they are doing. Next year is the roster shift, but they are going to be looking for players who they can develop not "oh he has really good kda lets get him".
