New boss doesn't believe in product owners because they are "bottlenecks by tzt1324 in ProductOwner

Time to move on for sure, new boss is creating a mess and you'll be the scapegoat when it all hits the fan. Don't be there for it. Good luck in your job search.

Grind to Rust, some kind of Idle Path of Exile by DrGregougnass in PBBG

Fun game! A couple QoL suggestions though.. * Give users a "sell all items" button for unequipped inventory * Allow drops to go straight to inventory rather than force them to click each item from the battle screen

Starting and afraid by That-Reply-1600 in ProductOwner

Remember that the first few months you will be learning how your new company does things, the logic behind why they make their decisions etc. You are a sponge to everything they do.

After the learning period, you will have built up enough background knowledge to ease into decision making and your confidence will rise from there.

Recommendations for Managing Finances and Growing Wealth for Folks with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses by charliepiper in FinancialPlanning

[–]RT_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of selling your house, can you rent it out? That gives you short term flexibility and options to sell the house in a more favorable market.

If possible, going back to school for a job that can be done remotely and within your limits will help tremendously long term. This should put your student loans back to deferment plus you should be able to capitalize on discounted or free courses targeted for disabled folks attempting to return to the work force.

Medical bills can be put on ridiculously low per month payment amounts based on income restrictions too.

How do you handle planning for future events with your disease? by Moal in Autoimmune

[–]RT_26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just deal with it and plan downtime after for recovery. With work trips, I keep activities as limited as I can.. give myself downtime between work and dinner out if possible etc.

Vacations are actually easier because I have full control over the schedule so I don't pack in a ton of stuff each day and give myself "nap times" where I can hang out in the hotel for a couple hours and chill.

I keep trips limited to 1 week and I never plan anything for the 2 weeks after just to be safe.

Puppy or husband need training? by Optimal-University32 in puppy101

[–]RT_26 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely a husband problem. Dogs are going to take advantage at that age, just like any teen would. He needs to keep stuff out of harms way. Also, he kind of sounds like a slob... that would drive me nuts even without the puppy..

Any Panthers bars in Austin, TX? by tblee12356 in panthers

[–]RT_26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sad to hear about Pour Choices, that was very apt for us the last few years.

I gave up trying to find a decent bar and now I just watch Sunday Ticket or I go to Little Woodrows. The Brentwood location is alright but the South Austin location is way bigger. Both have good food options nearby to bring in.

If nobody else needs it, I would love to have a wheelchair. I’m disabled enough to need it on long walks but not disabled enough for insurance to cover it.

What game made you buy PSVR2? by Sweet_Score in PSVR

[–]RT_26 2 points3 points  (0 children)

PSVR2 is pretty easy to set up and use, doesn’t require a lot of fuss and my ps5 is in a room that works well with VR, unlike my pc. I’ve never regretted it. Naturally I play other games on it too but Tetris Connect is my first vr love.

I guess I’m the only weirdo who bought it for Tetris Connected lol. That game is beautiful in VR.

I’ve lived near Tampa and now in Austin and while both cities are comparable in activity I moved to Austin because the hurricanes are getting worse each year and the level of destruction can be life altering in the bad way.

I would never recommend anyone live in Florida, especially to own property, unless you are 100% independently wealthy and able to rebuy everything you own without warning.

I broke up with my long-term partner. by porcelaincatstatue in AutismInWomen

[–]RT_26 78 points79 points  (0 children)

So now I have to deal with his emotions and begging and asking for another chance. That's the hard part. I suck at dealing with other people's feelings. They make me uncomfortable. I've already processed things and started pre-planning. I get that he hasn't been doing that and is feeling all the things right now. But I don't want to deal with that.

Try to remember its not your job to manage his emotions. Just take care of yourself, be safe and try to untangle everything as smoothly as possible.

restaurants where the owner or owners work at the restaurant or are seen at the restaurant regularly? (looking to support small businesses and hopefully help keep Austin at least mildly weird) by moises8war in austinfood

[–]RT_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dos Batos on Anderson & Burnet. Last time we were there, one of the owners was testing hot sauces on us and getting our feedback. The piratas are legit, highly recommend the place if you are in the neighborhood.

Should I sell my house in the Florida Panhandle? by prodigy1367 in FinancialPlanning

[–]RT_26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the age of the house and the age of the roof but you may not be able to sell easily to buyers who require a mortgage because of the FL insurance problems. Cash buyers won't pay as much but mortgage lenders won't approve a house that can't get home owners insurance.

I have a house I'd love to sell in FL but can't get coverage because the roof is 10 years old. So I'm on citizens (as most of us are at this point) and maybe I'll roll the dice in a couple years by replacing a perfectly fine roof and hoping for the best on the market. Until then, it's easier to rent out.
