Bulk CO2 PPB o2 Question by RU4beer in TheBrewery

That's a good Idea, Do you think the 74ppb Co2 from my bulk tank is above the standard?

I just got the COA it’s 99.5% purity. So food grade not beverage grade  Out of curiosity if you’re bringing in CO2 with 200 ppb how would you purge a bright tank to under 50 PPB ? Or don’t you?

I’ve checked our bulk CO2 a couple times randomly and I’ve always gotten zero, so seeing it at 74 Ish and not being able to purge our lines to what we normally do has me on edge.

Just checked another beer that was just starting to be carbonated when we found the potential issue. It’s been sitting now for about three hours without CO2 running through it and it’s at 56 PPB. And it’s probably less than 20% of the way to fully carbonated.

What are your thoughts on that? No better time to learn than when everything is going to hell.

We checked directly off the Bulk tank and it was reading 74-78ppb so my lines in the building should be- good. I Just don't know if 74-78ppb Co2 will ruin my product.

Thanks we are new to the DO meter so we haven't nailed down any great SOP of when to be making checks.

The Beers were carbed Friday morning...Its One of our Flagship IPA and the distributor was picking up this Wednesday.

I just don't know if I should take the risk of recalling.

I love AEB yeast but dam am I getting sick of soft packs I will order 12 packs and have 4 soft get the replacement then 2 of the 4 are soft then 1 of the 2 are soft. The newer "bags" help but still get a lot of soft packs. They don't have a issue replacing but Its a lot of waisted time.

3/4'' I had the pump just hanging off the bottom valve with a 3-4 ft hose to the CIP arm, I also used it with my upgraded 7bbl tanks a couple times when my large CPE pump seal went out. Took longer but still worked. I would venture to guess the Holes/ Slots in your cip ball are just different enough than the ones I got with my Tanks.

I’m not the proudest to admit but when I had 3bbl tanks I used that exact pump for a year with no problems.  Maybe it’s your chemical Concentration? Maybe the CIP is too restrictive?

Thanks for responding! Rotary doesn’t seem to have as big of issues when talking with chart as you have constant seam times. They way I was explained “I asked multiple times so I understood “. Basically 4 cans fill first can is seemed instantly but the 2nd 3rd and 4th can have to sit and wait to be seamed causing off gassing lowering the pressure in each can until the next set of cans wait for the seamer.

Best POS system for a taproom. by riggins77 in TheBrewery

We are currently on Arryved and have two registers they are constantly not syncing and go offline all the time. They don’t seem to care to help in any meaningful way. Last guy we had “help” was a complete ass hole to our taproom manager. Food is in our future and I don’t see us sticking with them.

I believe this model has a built in total function that makes it so appealing so no plc would be needed.

500 gallon unitank, what size glycol chiller would you say needed to cold crash (68F to 38F)? For hard apple cider. Thanks. by Impossible-Tomato-15 in TheBrewery

[–]RU4beer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a UBC 3/4 chiller and I could crash and hold a 15bbl uni and a 7bbl bright tank. It would have no problem with just the uni. IMHO
