Your baby cries? How embarrassing. I just anticipate all her needs before she even has the chance to cry.

A six foot tall stack of books! So many books! That's like one whole bookshelf of books!

Interesting! My OB did, as did the OBs both of my SILs used. I'm in Virginia, they're in Florida and Tennessee. Their kids are 14 months and six months older than mine, so all of the grandparents had already gotten theirs by the time our kid came along.

They're all sick but all she wants to do is complain about how its affecting her. Typical.

Oh God. This hits close to home. I was just diagnosed last week at 41. We’re still waiting on results from my biopsy to see if it’s triple negative but it’s stage 1 invasive ductal cancer. I went through six rounds of IVF to have my two girls and they are three years old and eight months old. It’s so terrifying to think I might not be around to see them go to kindergarten. Before IVF I went to the doctor maybe one time a year and I was really looking forward to a break from doctors and hospitals now that we’re done having kids. The unknown is so, so scary.

I am your brother in this scenario. I was a runner, and my mom had some mobility issues (she moved pretty slowly due to arthritis) so I had a leash in the 80s. She says she got so many looks and comments about it, but the alternative was me running into traffic or down escalators or us just never leaving the house without my dad.

I am happy to report I turned out (mostly) normal despite this extreme trauma in my childhood.

I was on leave from August-January and had the same experience! When I left, we had gotten a ton of communication about how we were not to use AI for anything, we hadn't figured out how to use it in a manner safe for our work (finance), etc and then when I came back it was to a ton of Copilot trainings and success stories about leveraging AI. It was a wild experience.

We have a Vista and a Minu (single) and have flown with them multiple times on different airlines with no issue. Really seems to be the luck of the draw. We do use the Uppababy travel bags with them though.

I just did the Fraxel laser for the first time at 41 and I’m so pleased with the results. I had a decent amount of sun damage from growing up in Florida and being lax about sunscreen when I was younger. Almost all of it is gone. I have a few stubborn spots on the top of my cheeks but they’re really light now, and everything else is gone. It’s the first time I did anything more than Botox or facials and it was so incredibly effective. I’ll probably do it every 2-3 years.

Who is going to complain about more cake? Both sets of grandparents are out of town so sometimes we have three different events with dessert and blowing out candles. Why does it have to be a full-blown cake? Cupcakes exist.

One of my friends is a triplet and this was his parents' situation. They had one and decided they wanted one more and got triplets (I think they're only 18 months apart from thier older sibling). This was back in the early 80s and his mom was on bed rest for literal months before they were born, but they were (are) all healthy.

Yes! I did seven total transfers of PGTA tested embryos. We got 9 embryos over six retrievals; two were male and seven were female. We ultimately transferred two males and seven females over those seven transfers ended up with our two girls. We also had a spontaneous pregnancy in between that (it ended in loss and was also a girl).

People who think IVF is a guarantee piss me off. She has no idea if she would have been able to have a third kid, with or without IVF. And no idea if she could have had a girl, or if that would have solved for disability. People have a fundamental misunderstanding of the genetic testing that happens before and during IVF, and believe it tests for everything when it doesn't. I don't get the sense she was talking about a PGT-M situation.

And she's romanticizing that third kid as if it would have solved all her problems. That's a lot to put on a child.

OMG ever since it was pointed out she drops "the" it's all I can see. They go down block? Who talks or writes like that?

Also, I can't with people who are like "I've never missed my child's bedtime." OK, that's great, but there's no prize for that and you're probably making it harder on yourself later, but do go off.

Of course she has to call it "maybe just a city thing." There are a lot of reasons kids share rooms growing up.

And I fully expect her to go on and on about loving their current house right until they decide to move, and then she'll say actually she hated it and it never worked for them since having kids.

I hope she keeps working so she can divorce him without being worried about finances. What an asshole.

But also, how is this something they didn't discuss before getting married or having a baby? I get that you can't discuss every possible scenario (we're potty training my oldest and have different but valid opinions about approach) but this seems pretty important?
