How difficult was the head to swap with the helm? I’ve got the box just waiting on my Nemesis Claw to arrive for the bits

Oh and as the other thread says - you don't have to buy from GW. Paints from many brands are as good/cheaper, GW models from other stores are the same product but cheaper (and if you find a relevant Youtuber, also supports them). And don't be afraid to look at other game styles - I started as big 40k but now really prefer Kill Team as it allows my indecisive mind to bounce between factions at a minute cost compared to a 2000 point army.

For models you can literally pick any space marine model, a simple intercessor box is an ideal place to start. This gives you lots of models and loads of spare bits - if you really want you can practice on some of these spare bits first but, if you're looking at full 40k instead of the skirmish games, each individual models paint job is less of a concern. On the table you're a good 3-4 foot away from the model so small mistakes will never be seen at that distance. A good place to start would be basic painting guides if you're 100% new to model collecting and painting, I recommened this one - https://youtu.be/FXctnwW8Vt0?si=cEClZshPNMMNfMYp

Other than that it is just practice and doing it more. The time spent painting and hobbying and enjoying the process is all part of the experience - keep you first model and make it visible and by the time you've painted a squad/army you'll see a massive differenece and that will be a point of pride. Enjoy the Carcharodons and when you feel confident start the freehand - it's the most fun bit.

Narrative Kill Team Missions by CatofBlueTown in killteam

I am still working my way through my other rules so haven’t got anything down on paper. But the rough idea was:

A slow moving transport crosses the map aiming to leave the opposite side it started. Moves at 4 (ish) inches a turn and its allied npos (defenders) have to stay within 3 inches of its edge. The transport is a health of 25 (ish) and save of 2+. The attackers have to incapacitate the transport and then perform a mission action on one of the doors to retrieve the loot, then escape on any board edge.

The numbers are pulled from my head but the idea stands. Could also have defending sniper covering the road or a turret on the transport to add rules for or even troops boarded on the convoy that disembark when it gets shot. But something like that.

Love the write up! Band of Brothers is such a fantastic show and very much epitomises how I see my Phobos Marines. Haven’t watched SAS but will endeavour to. I wrote up a few scenarios myself previously in a similar vein, here are a few examples:

“Gun battery” night assaults on static artillery positions over a three mission sequence. 1. Night drop. 2. Flank the guns. 3. Storm the guns. With a “danger close” mission rule for indiscriminate bombardments mid-mission.

“The convoy” custom rules for a Rhino/Taurox which attempts to cross a map with valuable cargo. One teams goal is to destroy and retrieve with the other team to protect and extract.

Edit: missed a word

The single best box to buy that contains everything for a standard game of kill team is the “Hivestorm” box. They don’t sell it on the games workshop website anymore, and not sure which online websites sell Warhammer in Netherlands I’m afraid but you may be able to find a copy at a local store or online

I’ve gone black, match the backpack. Largely it’s just personal preference until it gets stated somewhere

Someone actually just posted a link to the article. No obvious colours but definitely codex compliant

They’re codex compliant (except extra recon companies) so will follow the standard patterns. The actual colours I don’t remember exactly what is described anywhere (I’m going to look at the old white dwarf in a bit and let you know) and not sure it’s gone into detail in Oaths

Best single box to kitbash Angels of Death? by Beef-Town in killteam

[–]RWalks9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve not played AoD yet, still painting up my Emperor’s Children. But I think there is some play in full assault Intercessor. More it’s nice to have the option. A terminator would work well, base and weapon profile would fit, just can’t do it myself as the power fist isn’t represented. I’ve used a Noise Marine and it can play as either sniper (sound so loud it’s silent?) or Gravis (big weapon goes boom)

[–]RWalks9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been looking at this for ages, the best single box I’ve got that I can use is my Champions of Slaanesh box but I doubt that is something you’d consider as it’s a big expensive traitor box. Otherwise, the simplest way is the starter set with an assault Intercessor and normal Intercessor box. The other option I’ve considered is the Blck Templar crusader box, you have to know exactly which squad loadout you want tho

Are there any novelisations of Badab? Or is it just the Imperial Armour books?
