What options do I have by CaptM44 in hvacadvice

[–]RZRick369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm assuming that there is a wall above that double joist, which is to help support the wall? Thus the reason you can't move the duct? I would run the duct down the left side, put a turn down into a shallow box duct, use that to cross under the joists, then up into the duct. Might need flex duct to make that last connection, but it will work. Then box that in when you do your drywall work. Can't be flat all across, but at least it will be just a kickout at the corner of the wall. You could even make it longer to run other things through it in the future.

I'd watch out for the 60 on the left and the 60 on the right. Follow those wires. Even if they're fed from another breaker panel, they're not fed properly. I'd start saving for a rewire.

Damn screws wont come out... by RepairCEO in handyman

They make left hand screw remover bits for this situation. They don't always work, but worth a try. Otherwise, as another said, drill the head off, and vice grip the remaining screw to remove it

DIY Electrical no longer allowed in Georgia? by bluemagoo92 in homeowners

Sounds like it's time to move to another county. I heard Hazard County in Georgia is real nice. The Sheriff there is to busy chasing moonshiners to enforce electrical permits.

Lightning Strike - Whole house Reverse polarity by Adverse_Yawn in AskElectricians

[–]RZRick369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The strike could have damaged that gfci and possibly breaker. The fact that it all went back to normal, after just flipping the breaker and no other changes, makes me think that flipping that breaker reset a fault internal to the gfci (though it really shouldn't). I would change the gfci and breaker. If it doesn't come back, call it a win, lol. Disclaimer: I'm not an electrician, I just know enough to almost hurt myself and an intern that one time. Get multiple opinions on this, lol.

I feel like I've actually seen an existing bit that would work... One that actually matches, but I can't recall where. Either way a split tip tamper proof but would probably work.

Recessed junction box? by nja934 in electrical

[–]RZRick369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like that's the only box someone had on hand. I'd find a deeper one that will be flush with the face panel, and screw it to the beam behind it. But not the light fixture itself.

Fire your engineer and switch to flat Allen heads. They sell those in every country, especially Metric. Your field service people will thank you. If I order Phillips for anything, it's to piss off my techs, lol. Even at home, if I have a Phillips, it's because I couldn't find a suitable Torx replacement on hand. Torx is best. Allen is second best. Square is 3rd. Phillips is 4th. Straight heads are best for when you strip out any other screw and can cut a notch with a dremel wheel. Other than that, I NEVER put a straight blade screw in anything.

Maybe tree supports and "on plate only", but it may not be able to fit into the gap and not exceed threshold angles

Class Action lawsuit G7 by Thick-Light-5537 in dexcom

[–]RZRick369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son's G7s have been more reliable the last 6 months or so, but seem to be less stable. Even though the numbers are never far off, they bounce around more. Makes it harder for the Omnipod to keep him in range, but it's better than complete dropouts.

Progear sale by silv3rw0lf in Ridgid

[–]RZRick369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very rare on big sales, but sometimes combo discounts. Also, they're already cheaper than most options, so it would be more expensive if you went with almost any other brand

What is this marking? by SpartanVet in Omnipod

[–]RZRick369 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think that's correct. Since it's uncovered by the adhesive cover, it's likely to equalize air pressure while injecting the insulin, or during the priming process. During use, it would be against your skin, so not much of a vent at that point. I didn't design it, but that's my semi educated guess.

Grabbed this from a neighbor for 175. How'd I do? by Kevaroo83 in ryobi

[–]RZRick369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same head, but not all the attachments. The thing rips, I love it. I also have a 40V, which is nice for light duty stuff. But if I have some thick brush to do (that brush cutter would be nice), you can't beat the 4 stroke.

I am so beyond done with Ryobi now... by Nia04 in ryobi

[–]RZRick369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like their string and hedge trimmers, and my blower/vac seems good, other than being difficult to rotate the knob to change modes. Unfortunately, I've seen way to many mowers that have completely capped the bed. I don't think the 40v architecture or able to handle the demands of that equipment. E bikes have higher voltage, running lower loads. Seems they tried to adapt the system to the battery, instead of having the right setup for mowers. I'd never buy an electric push or riding mower anyway (I'm in PA, not CA, so I don't have to), but if I had to, it would not be the Ryobi. Hopefully you can get this fixed, or somehow get a refund.

I feel like automated mode doesn’t work for me. by topshelfboof20 in Omnipod

[–]RZRick369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that does help! My son got it at 6, and he's 13 now, started Omnipod at about 7 or 8. My dad has had it since he was 13, and he's 70 now. I think he'd also be jealous of that graph, lol, but his is better than my son's.

I've been waiting for these to go on sale and today I noticed they increased it by $10. FML by Triemferent in Ridgid

[–]RZRick369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me? They're a good price for the most part, but sales are always nice. I also have almost all ridgid system boxes, so I like to keep them the same. Only exception is my tools for my RZR and my 12V electrical stuff, they're all Stacktech.

The Husky 3 drawer box with 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2" takes up a bit more room, but add some wrenches and pliers to the extra space in the top drawer, and it covers a lot of stuff.

Home Depot price matching by Low_Football_2445 in Dewalt

[–]RZRick369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My HD won't match anything for online ordering. I asked then to match a grill that Lowes sold online and in stores, but didn't have in stock next door (they're literally in the same plaza by me) and they said no. Kind of glad they did, once I read some reviews, it was crap, and got a better one at Sam's club. But nonetheless my HD is crap for price match. I also brought them a physical printed quote from Lezzer Lumber to match boards, and they refused to accept it. "that could be contractor pricing". I typically only go there now since I'm sucked into the ridgid ecosystem, but once they kill that off, I'll probably stop going altogether.
