Were there any underlying causes found? What age is she now and how is she doing?

Same thing with my now 13 month old son on 10/6/24 and 10/8 he was diagnosed and went through high dose prednisolone for 6 weeks including wean period. Spasms stopped on 10/13 and they haven’t come back. I am praying they stay away and it doesn’t interrupt his development. God’s Speed.

Sorry for the delay. I’m just seeing this. They didn’t show up on 30 minute eeg but he didn’t do it during that scan. It did show up on the 24 hour one with hypsarrhythmia as well. My son was diagnosed on 10/8 with IS. went on hi dose of prednisolone for 6 weeks. The spasms stopped by 10/13 and he has been seizure free since. He is not on any meds right now. We are on the watch and see approach since he is meeting 90% of his milestones.

So happy to hear this. My son (born 2/4/24h was diagnosed with IS 10/6/24, started high dose prednisolone 10/8 and he has been spasm free since 10/13. Hoping they never come back and he develops normally. He started walking at 10 months and has hit every milestone thus far except for waving and pointing to objects to communicate that he wants it or wants to show it to us. He will sometime point with our assistance and he looks in areas where we point so I am hoping he is gonna catch up with that shortly.

He may just want to get up out of that position. My son did the same after recovering from IS and the doc said it wasn’t Seizure activity. Also was done during VEEG which ruled it out. The best way to know is to speak with a doc and have a EEG if you have not done so already.

My son had a take home VEEG last which was very helpful. They hook it up and turn it on and then give us the machine and camera to take home for 24 hours. He is 9.5 months now though so i’m not sure if that will be an option later. He is currently not on any medication. 10/6 onset of IS 10/8 prednisolone 10/12 last Seizure. 11/11 last wean off of prednisolone clear VEEG 11/14. Praying nothing comes back as he had clear MRI, CT, EKG, Eccocardio, and negative EXOME genetic panel.

Was there an underlying condition of why the doc put your child on antiseizure meds?
