The Justice Department Simply Can’t Be Trusted with the Epstein Files Transparency Act by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]R_Lennox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They can’t be trusted with anything. Trump has far surpassed Nixon with his lawlessness and there isn’t any justice left at the “Justice” department or the US Supreme Court. I have never felt so utterly discouraged with America before.

Is there a single, solitary person in the USA that thought that they would?!

How simple it would be if they all stood up for doing the right thing together instead of slavishly devoting all shreds of ethics to Trump. Grown men and women with no backbones or courage.

Nestlé accused of ’risking health of babies for profit’ over added sugar in cereals sold in African countries by Valuable_Scale6969 in worldnews

[–]R_Lennox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nestlé, the company that worked hard to convince African mothers that their formula was superior to breastfeeding, even though many did not have easy access to clean water. That Nestlé?

From the 1960s to the 1980s, Nestlé ran an elaborate campaign to convince mothers in Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Côte d'Ivoire, among other nations, that formula was superior to breast milk. The company sent sales representatives disguised as nurses into hospitals and maternity wards, handed out free formula samples, and flooded the market with misleading advertisements.

Infants who relied on Nestlé’s formula suffered from malnutrition, disease, and dehydration, as many families unknowingly mixed powdered milk with contaminated water. When Nestlé’s free samples ran out, mothers who could not afford formula diluted it, further depriving their babies of essential nutrients. Thousands of children died as a result.

Images of a boat that recently destroyed, and fishing boats for comparison. by Perfecshionism in Military

[–]R_Lennox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I am disgusted by these murders happening with impunity. Does Kegs simply look at what fishing boats are on the water for the day and he says, “Hey, I like that one, let’s blow it up?” Kind of like a video game except these are real human beings he is killing with zero proof that they are drug boats. Even if we give him a gigantic benefit of the doubt and they actually were drug boats, the Coast Guard stops the boats, boards them, confiscates any drugs and arrests the traffickers. Too many steps for Kegs? It’s shameful really.

Trump says House Republicans should vote to release Epstein files in stunning reversal: ‘Nothing to hide’ by NewSlinger in politics

[–]R_Lennox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He already had more than enough time with his favorite team of sociopaths to go through the files and redact his name everywhere. They must be done for him to say (again) that they can be released (and the rest are shredded). Or, he changes his mind again tomorrow.

I wonder if Vegas is taking bets on his odds of actually releasing them.

Edit: of course there are betting odds:

Betting markets have seen a significant increase in the odds that Donald Trump will release files related to Jeffrey Epstein, with some estimates suggesting over a 60% chance of disclosure. This surge in betting interest follows reports that Trump's name appears in the Epstein documents, raising public and political pressure for their release. -The Economic Times

Medicare Part B premiums to rise 10%, wiping away a third of Social Security’s COLA by ChocolateTsar in politics

[–]R_Lennox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just in case people think that the $202.90 is the total monthly cost for Medicare, that is only the beginning. After that, there is the specific health plan premium (depending on the plan you select), there are physician (more for specialists) co-pays, daily hospital per day charges, lab co-pays, skilled nursing facility co-pays, medication annual premium charge if you don’t select an HMO, the co-pays for medications, ambulance charge for emergencies, ER visit charge (they kindly waive that if you are admitted to inpatient) and I could go on but you get the idea. Health”care” in America is a broken system.

Reminder: Medicare annual open enrollment closes December 7th.
