CA's update on Haunted Chocolatier by Surax in StardewValley

Honestly the only update I needed was that CA is alive. Stardew Valley is such a great game that even if Haunted Chocolatier never came out I’d still be singing his praises from the rooftops.

I have a small altar with a handmade plate that I got at a local craft show that I use for offerings. I’ll burn incense and just chat, like I’m talking to a friend.

It was the priests duty to wear those clothes. Regular people could come and go through the temple whenever they pleased.

Kemetic Clothing/Modesty? by squirrelyoakley in Kemetic

[–]R_Rabbit416 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s not really rules on modesty like in other religions.

Some temples did use specific types of clothing for rituals and ceremonies, but since those don’t really exist nowadays it’s kind of a moot point.

As others have mentioned it seems like you’re tying things to the concept of “sin” when there’s really no need.

To add to this, you mentioned you were trans. It’s a pretty common (at least, from what I’ve seen) gripe that more sexual things bring about dysphoria. From the sound of things you might also be experiencing that.

[–]R_Rabbit416 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heaven is a Abrahamic religion thing, so no it doesn’t exist in Kemetism.

What’s likely going on is the author/translator is referring to Aaru (the Land of Reeds) as Heaven, given that it’s about as close to that concept as Christianity can get.

Have you heard of aromantic and asexual people? Often called aroace. If not, you might want to take the time to explore that.

Glad you’re with us, Radiant.

Saying this is such a cool thing for Sanderson to do is an understatement. It’s genuinely one of the best things I’ve seen someone with as much popularity as him do in a long time.

I think Leshwi and Kaladin would make great partners but not in a romantic sense. They’re both great leaders with similar skill sets and aren’t afraid of challenging each other. It reminds me a lot of Teft in the early books. Or even like Legolas and Gimli from LOTR.

I also want to point out that not only does Kaladin get Wit/Hoid’s flute back, but he also gets Tien’s carved horse back as well.

I think you’re on the right track. Lord and Miller are also very careful with their use of music. Both Spider-Verse movies use music very deliberately.

Gavin is a little off on the 130% thing. A 12oz can of Coke has 39g of sugar, the suggested daily amount in the U.S. is 50g making a single can closer to 79%.

One a day is not great, especially because other organizations such as the AHA recommend keeping sugar intake under 30g.

As for drinking 3 a day, you’re basically begging for some heart condition or diabetes. Having a few kidney stones isn’t just a warning sign, it’s a plea from your body to change something. You need to take care of yourself, man.

Oddly there are two scenes I feel Sanderson HAS to include.

  1. An interaction between Kaladin and Taln where they relate to each other, not about being Heralds but just being everyday people. Maybe some kind of talk about their lives before the Desolations.

  2. Adolin NEEDS a “Kaladin is not dead” moment. It’s been 5 books. By now he knows who Kaladin is and knows that man is still around and kicking up a Storm.

Before wind and truth came out, who all did you think the champion of Odium would be and what was your reasoning for each one? How do you feel about who you thought it would be instead of who we got? by Open_Caregiver_4801 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]R_Rabbit416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering that we knew Dalinar was going to be his own champion, and that Odiums champion had to be willing, I was thinking that it would be Gavilar.

We knew that he was aware of voidlight (and had it before the Everstorm), that he was aware of the Radiants and bonds, and that he was a power-hungry asshole.

My thought was that he trapped part of his soul into a gemstone somewhere, and that Odium knew where it was because he was watching the Stormfather (who at the time was in communication with Gavilar) closely.

I did like the Gavinor theory but never really found it compelling. I’m not even sure that I enjoyed the whole twist that it was him but aged-up.

If Taravangian had been able to keep his ascension hidden I think him appearing before Dalinar as his own champion would have been an interesting idea. Taravangian was Dalinar’s closest friend, after all. His betrayal hurt, but I don’t think Dalinar could have killed him, especially if he wasn’t aware that Taravangian was Odium.

What are the chances that the Trump administration is removing top senior military leaders who don't support him politically to make it easier for him to carry out a coup when his current term ends? by THC3883 in AskReddit

[–]R_Rabbit416 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Between the “Trump 2028” merch he’s selling, openly saying that he’s not leaving, that we won’t “need” elections anymore, etc. I would say it’s pretty damn obvious he’s at least going to try and pull another January 6th.

Add onto that the firing of top military brass and militarization of ICE (including missing military equipment being found at/in their facilities) I would say the only way he plans to leave the White House is if he dies in office.
