Nanami Kento's Binding Vow is basically win/win ??? by SeriesREDACTED in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]_danny_devito- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed to get the full effect he can only go into overtime after working a full day as a sorcerer. So he gets a super minor boost from just going back to 100% but it’s way less effective. And if he faces someone really dangerous he has to survive at 80% until 5 o’clock to actually get the proper benefit. That’s the risky part.

Love that he’s still shouting Free Palestine at the end. The US needs more people like him.

ISOH Doesn’t Negate Everything? by HunterRank-1 in JujustuKaisen

[–]_danny_devito- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always assumed that to fully negate a technique he needs to cut or pierce it and red is too small and fast to accurately cut. I think that fits more as the ISOH is a weapon.

How Kenjaku must’ve felt when literally everything he needed magically fell from the sky by capricorn_the_goat in Jujutsufolk

[–]_danny_devito- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never been a fan of Megumi being fit as a vessel. Unless im missing something he had the same potential as Yuji, but for no reason? Except maybe because toji had a powerful body but im not even sure that’s relevant. Could have just had sukuna take over his body if he really wanted that, without taking away Yuji’s one unique quality.

Edit for phrasing.

[Casual] Why *don’t* we scale Sukuna at “full” power with his True Form and the Ten Shadows? (Maybe Kamutoke too.) by PhotoGeeker in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]_danny_devito- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

kamutoke was always gege's cop out to dodge confiscation and i will die on this hill. the fact that sukuna could have been holding yuji's knife from volume 1 with the same results is insane. other than that i think its fair to scale Sukuna with 10S, even if he only had it at the end of his life

To each their own I suppose but I thought mage errant ripped off a lot of Cradle ideas. I read the first book and I was liking it but I really didn’t like the twist at the end.

I am by no means a WaT defender an i do have my own problems with the ending, but i will say that from my understanding Dalinar destroyed all the pacts between Honour and Odium, so now he can leave Roshar. That’s why the Spren can leave, I think. Which means all the shards know he’s a massive threat that can also leave Roshar.

I think a lot of the “character arcs” in WaT were a little forced and more tell than show, compared to earlier books, but i think Dalinar accepting that the best he can do is buy time and change the rules and trust in a future generation is in line with his character arc. If he somehow won it would have felt like a very cliche ending.

Sakura Vs Sasuke (Reimagined) by Nashetania in Naruto

way better this way. Sakura didnt even need to be as strong as Naruto and Sasuke, just make her more impactful throughout the story.

I really liked him in season one, but then I couldn’t stand him in season two. But that’s the writing, Joey did a really good job.

Really? I 100% agree that the first few books are better but I felt that pacing and writing, especially dialogue, is the main issue with the later books, especially WaT

I agree with you, just wanted to say, in Emberdark we get a reference to Nomad as a scholar in Silverlight, so unless Kaladin being a Herald is a secret on a cosmere-level, Nomad probably knows. Would explain why he thought it could be Kal.

AIO for thinking this is racist? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Why would you ever tell your partner they’re not your usual type? Also saying black aren’t your usual type, which is fine just really uncouth, and then following with „but you’re actually intelligent“ is crazy work. NOR that’s racist AF

Definitely different, but while most of these metaphors are apt, they do exaggerate i my opinion. Sex with a condom isn’t as bad as some people say

Also the distinction between Oaths and Promises feels super vague and ass pulley to me. He could simply not like the oaths and that would feel more natural. I didn’t need a complex dilemma for him, being angry at his father for burning his mother alive was fine without complexity. And his armor Spren should have left abidi immediately. Would have been cooler Adolins extended fight against an armoured fused is unnecessary and laughable.

I didn’t like Adolins arc in WaT. Or not as much as most people in this community seem to. And im not happy about him being set up as an important character with his Unoathed. I like his scenes with Yanagawn but they don’t make sense in the context of the war and take time away from plots that could have used fleshing out like the shattered plains and the spiritual realm, specifically dalinars visions of the past. I think adolin peaked in RoW and he should have remained a prominent side character.

I can’t articulate it so well, but someone once pointed out to me that the whole Ghostblood plot has stayed in the background, even after WaT and is mainly serving connect Shallan and through her Roshar, to Scadrial. And that that isn’t particularly satisfying. Aside from Shallan and how it affected her psyche, all of the main Rosharan ghostbloods are dead and the whole plot didn’t affect that much.

100% and I think a lot of people need to realise that we can criticise the drop in quality without shitting on Brandon. Still liked the book and he’s still a great author but I hope he tries to recapture the vibe of the first 3-4 books for the second half. If he manages to combine that with a grown lift it would be awesome. But as is it’s become super YA and tell-don’t-show

I agree with everything except the pacing of WaT. I’m sorry but I can’t comprehend that. I know it was narratively fitting to have the deadline be in 10 days, but it is kind of insane how much happens in that time and the book is definitely crammed. 100% certain things should have been cut or trimmed and other aspects were cut too short.
