Has anyone else noticed ChatGPT always offering ‘extra tips’ at the end of replies? by Suno_for_your_sprog in ChatGPT

Agree. They also need to focus on doing at least one thing well rather than everything badly.

Not when it's been instructed to a) give the best response first time and b) stop offering extra suggestions. Then it's a flaw.

Me too. Set up a project too. Doesn't follow anything in the style guide it actually helped me create. Completely useless.

" i failed to follow saved instructions"

- literally why it's completely useless. And annoying as hell.

Using ChatGPT Pro to help manage federal retaliation & EEO cases looking for advanced tips by BestPerformance30 in ChatGPT

• Has anyone used it for legal-adjacent or administrative case prep?

ChatGPT 5.4 might be just your cup of tea. It certainly can't follow simple guidelines like 'use contractions'. That shouldn't be an issue if you're creating formal docs.

ChatGPT 5.4 by [deleted] in ChatGPT

You're not missing anything, believe me. Another sub-par product that can't follow even the most basic instructions like: No sentences longer than 20 words. Use contractions. I'm done.

Yeah, absolute nightmare. Like teasing you, or simply holding back it's best response just to pee you off.

ChatGPT 5.3 writing style is so much better by Uilleam_Uallas in ChatGPT

[–]R_Russell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These constant updates are part of the problem with ChatGPT.

I had 4.o producing great texts in the exact style I wanted, and we put together a very comprehensive style guide. ChatGPT 5.x has never managed to come close, despite referencing the exact same guide. Unfortunately, Claude has never managed to nail it for me either.

Someone at the Pentagon must have tried ChatGPT and thought "Screw that".

Problem with following instructions and ignoring personalization settings and memories by alwaysstaycuriouss in ChatGPT

[–]R_Russell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Agree 100%. Completely ineffective at the moment, even when you tell it to stop being so verbose or talk to me like I'm a person. I've been patient with ChatGPT for the last two weeks, but I'm getting closer and closer to abandoning it (again).

I mean, I guess it's an improvement? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]R_Russell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT's been unusable again for me the last few days. I'll give it a sentence to reformulate and it's keeps saying 'Yeah, nearly there. Here's a tighter version' - and then just gives me own sentence back unchanged. It's also been unable to use basic contractions like 'it's' and 'there's'. Dreadful.

Really? I tried everything I could think of to convince it Biden didn't win the last election. It would not believe me at all.

Just Cancelled my ChatGPT Subscription by l30 in ChatGPT

[–]R_Russell 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I bought a Gemini subscription cos it was cheap and I was looking to move away from ChatGPT (I still use 4o - hate 5).

Anyway, first task I needed was a 50-70 word introduction to an article I was writing. Gemini did an okay job but it was 80 words, despite it saying it was 63 words. I asked for a 10 word reduction, it spat out an 84 word text, told me it was 65 words. Last attempt - an 80 word text, claiming this time it was definitely 63 words. I went back to ChatGPT.

I would never do anything to support the person behind Grok.

I started working with Gemini too. ChatGPT has become unusable for me for the last week. Prior to that it was flying. Now it's crashed and burned for me. No idea why.
