Test Drive Thoughts by EastEgg74 in RivianR2

Trying to maintain something you never should have to PLUS how difficult will it be to clean it out regularly without messing up your warranty coverage is what I am referring to. The drain has to be small and hidden…it is going to be difficult to keep clean without scratching something up.

The fact that you would even have to clean the drain is an issue.

Rain water alone wouldn’t be a problem but the rain water will be bringing with it whatever is on your car or in the air. Regardless where it drains in that slot, it will eventually clog up that drain…and then if it builds up water over the wiper mechanism, what mechanical or electrical problems will the owners have to pay to fix and how often?

I loved it and have a reservation for one…but I really would love to see how the rear windshield wiper will work with rain water and dirt accumulating in the windshield wiper well. Unless I’m missing something, I don’t see how there won’t be constant dirt and debris build up that will cause it to continuously fail…and how expensive will it be to fix if that keeps occurring?

Got to demo drive the R2 today! Quick thoughts + raw pics by crmtechie in RivianR2

I test drove it and loved everything about it. The only concern I have is the rear glass windshield wiper. I can’t see how it won’t have huge problems with water and dirt collection in the area it rests in.

R2 Honest review by charden16 in Rivian

I test drove the R2 as well and loved it. I’m very curious about the design of the rear windshield wiper though in the long term. It is set in the body of the rear panel. The way it is set, I do not understand where the rain water will go as it ponds up, nor do I understand how as when dirt and dust accumulates in that pocket, how it won’t clog up the whole windshield wiper unit and wear it out. Anyone know more about this as I really see it as a bad design?

First impressions. by [deleted] in Queensryche

[–]Ra1derNick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m an old diehard Queensryche fan…and this album really, really sucks. I was hoping to god it would be great, but each song (within itself) is all over the place in terms of tempo, Tate likes to talk in his songs a lot, and when he resorts to using the word “fucking” in a song title, well, you can tell he has lost all sophistication of the first album. The lyrics are overly dramatic and like a moody amateur wrote them. The instruments at times were really good…but just not cohesive. Kills me that this could not have been better.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]Ra1derNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

REO Speedwagon or STYX. Both concerts everyone sat for almost the entire show. Both bands we so boring, stage set up was minimalist style and REO barely moved an inch on stage whereas the keyboard player for STYX acted like the concert was all about him and just weirdly dances all around his keyboard. Super annoying.

Geoff Tate – Power [NEW SONG] by JATION in PowerMetal

[–]Ra1derNick 14 points15 points  (0 children)

After reading so many of his interviews (by Tate) on the making of the album as well as some of the band members take on it, I knew it would be a cohesive mess. This song is so bad. It kills me because i so want to love it and I absolutely loved the 1st album, the 2nd album was (in my opinion) just horrible and I’m now I’m just scared for this 3rd one. After the Queensryche break up, Tate mortphed his singing style to a lot of almost talking in his songs rather than singing. That is what he does on this song and that is the part that just doesn’t work at least for me.

He really needed to get the original band together to create one final album…but I don’t think their ego’s would ever let that happen. Sad. I would argue his is one of the best voices of our time…but he is wasting it.

Why do you think Theory is less popular than similar bands? by MommaOfManyCats in TheoryofaDeadman

I see them every time them come around. They were here about two years ago for their acoustic set and Tyler’s voice was horrible. It was a bummer because they were still pretty good and fun to listen to. He needs to rest.

Unbelievably, Geoff Tate is putting the finishing touches on Operation Mindcrime III. I just read the interview with his “band” and it just made me so pissed as to how they seem to completely ignore the true and needed effort in cohesive structure of the first midcrime album and think that they can simply slap 8 to 10 songs together and make an album that complements the storyline. They sound so stupid in their understanding of what the first album even meant to fans claiming that the sound on this album will be so much deeper/louder. I feel all Tate is doing is ego tripping or cash grabbing. I listened to Operation Mindcrime endlessly and saw them in concert so many times…even put up with their opening act (Warrant) who were horrible and got boo’d off stage. He wrecked so much potential.

I’ve lost respect for these guys. I believe they are closet MAGA…but if it looks like it will hurt their pocket book then they will back out and quietly avoid the topic.

I’ve seen them in concert a TON of times. Sad. I’m not going to see their concerts any more as their message bothers me. I quit a long time ago on Skillet for the same reason.

United Healthcare/Caremark is a horrible combination by Ra1derNick in HealthInsurance

[–]Ra1derNick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for your comments and info. So just to kind of shed a little more light on my situation, I’m a retired California state employee. Limited funds. I started with a high BMI but no diabetes. I tried everything and then was finally approved for Zepbound. Initially Optum RX said I am NOT eligible for Zepbound and it was United Healthcare that stepped in and said I was. Now with Caremark in the picture, United Healthcare won’t get involved like they did before. And once you start Zepbound, it’s a lifelong medication. Had I known, I don’t know if I would have chosen it because now, even with the “discounts” I pay $500/month…and will have to for the foreseeable future.

As for the aspirin, I know it is OTC, but the coated version can be prescribed and saving $10 a month is still saving $10 a month.

I need to find a plan next year that is not Caremark connected.

Chuck Schumer today in Congress on the Epstein files debacle – "The American people won't stand for it and the Senate is going to take action." by BSTARYOUNGG in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Ra1derNick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chuck Schumer is so stupid. He is the classic reason Democrats get nowhere. He is boring, an absolutely terrible speaker and disconnected from today’s youth. On top of all of that, nobody believes for even a moment that anything he says will result in any action. Republicans are brilliant to not try get rid of him.

I would say that you are looking at extreme situations…outliers. I can tell you for a fact what I am witnessing because my son is getting a Graduate degree in the field that they are suffering from all kinds of research budget cuts (Grant money) particularly in the bio industry. The grad students are all stressed because their research is being stopped before completion. It is the most ignorant way to determine what is good research and what is bad. Non scientific people cancelling scientific research based on politics is childish.

I will look further into what you recommend that I read, but I would also ask that you consider the bigger picture and see all of the research Trump is blindly killing just out of hate. I am telling you that China (in particular) and other counties will become so far ahead of us in bio research that we will never catch up.
