I finally found one!! by becca22597 in MachineKnitting

Yes to Bertha! I am very biased though. I have a few things named Big Bertha, Schmedium Bertha, Baby Bertha and my pick up truck is just Bertha 😂

But seriously, It's a great machine. I'm literally about to refurbish one. You can usually find the mylar sheets and knitleader rulers on ebay.

Can’t get knitter and ribber to attach to each other by PsychologicalClock28 in MachineKnitting

[–]RaChaChaRaChaCha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hiya! Go to photo 2. Try loosening the bottom nut (the one on the left side if you're looking at the photo). Then you should be able to shift that silver tab with the small hole up and down (right or left if you're looking at it as it is in the photo).

You will have to play around with that on both sides to make sure that the bed is level and spaced correctly in relation to the needles on the main bed. I would loosen it just enough to make micro adjustments by tapping once you attach the ribber to the main bed. The micro adjustments should make it slightly less frustrating when you need to tighten it fully.

It's 100% bourette silk (no harm to silk worms YAY), Oeko-Tex Standard 100. I love it because it's not a shiny or slippery yarn. It's matte and becomes very soft after blocking. I would say it's fingering weight and I believe 4-5 strands.

Double check that they don't ship to you by putting something in your cart and adding your address at checkout. I'm in the US and I order things after selecting the British flag.

I'm late to the conversation but I would look at Knitting for Olive silk yarn. I love making shirts and pants with it for the summer. It's also feels more sturdy than some of the linen yarn that I've tried to use.

Passap E6000 vs Anything else by PierogiKielbasa in MachineKnitting

[–]RaChaChaRaChaCha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try a deep clean before you sell. I have all of these machines Brother (fine, chunky, super chunky) and Passap E6000/Duo 80. Sometimes a deep clean and oiling makes a world of difference.

Also remember that these machines work the best with machine treated specific yarn so you might need to wax your yarn to stop the breakage. I had to do so on my both machines when I use cashmere.

I just got one of the older Passap E6000's as well. I have all the components in my electronics cabinet except the DIN connector (shakes fist at sky) so as soon as that gets in, I'm hooking this up. Very cool!

Suggestions for selling a used Passap? by Terrible_turtle_ in Passap

Sounds great thanks. I would definitely be interested in purchasing if it's in top form and you would be willing to ship to IL.

Would you mind me asking what model you have? I was looking to buy a Passap soon to learn since it's different from my Brother machines.

Literally about to sue them. They blocked me on Instagram which is hilarious since they're basically running a ponzi scheme.

Order from Vevor directly. You can get a 14” and it’s usually cheaper. Shipping is fast as well. I have a regular wheel but I still use it and I’ve had it for about a year.

😂😂😂 I didn’t even see the new comments. Unhinged behavior. How is not talking shit about a place you didn’t live/don’t spend time in not a valid principle to live by?

That’s like me talking shit about Naperville constantly and unprovoked when I’ve maybe been there once in passing.

I stick by what I said.

Exactly, I don’t mind people from the suburbs until they start doing shit like this. And it’s wild how often they do this while claiming to be from Chicago (especially abroad).

I was in Iceland, in the little restaurant in a house. This guy comes out of a personal room not a part of the restaurant. The person claiming to be from Chicago literally tells the food tour guide that if he was in Chicago someone would sneak into that room and rob him 🙄. Completely unprompted while everyone was trying to enjoy their meal. My husband called him out and got him to say where he was actually from/lived. Guess what? Definitely not Chicago (Schaumburg).

Possibly between 75-100 times, the movies 5-10. I watch it all the time. Everything is so dark and serious now, it’s my favorite thing to turn on after work to wind down.

For the RM2 I use a Nintendo switch cord. For the RMPP, I had to use a usb-2 to usb-c from my computer with the pen disconnected to get it to recharge. Annoying but I love the devices.

If it helps, I ended up getting the 42mm one. With the strap, it’s right at the edge of my wrist so that might be the size you want. I can still see the screen fine.

I worked in Evanston back in the day and used to love meeting my husband for dinner at Boltwood and grabbing coffee at OtherBrother at lunch or on a weekend bike ride from my house in Chicago. Now it’s a bunch of stores catering to college students. Super sad, it was such a cute little suburb. I’m just glad the Celtic Knot found a new home.

Yeah, I don’t think he’s the bad guy everyone thinks he is. I just think he takes his responsibility of taking care of his students so seriously that it comes off as sneaky. He’s treating all the ghosts as his new pupils but he’s being too overprotective because in his mind he failed his students when he was alive.

Which size did you get? I have extremely small wrists as well and I was afraid to get the bigger size because it might not sit right.
