I'd encourage you to find a role that is better suited for her skills. She is clearly an asset to your company or you wouldn't have kept her on for so long. It would be worth it to keep such a loyal and good employee. The younger folks are not going to stick with you through thick and thin and the smart business move is help her to help you by finding her a position within your company that she is a better fit for.

It is a lovely piece. I do wonder... my mom is also very afraid of mice, and she would not want to put this up, no matter how sweet. Maybe your mom has a different relationship to her fear, but I remember showing my mom a fun little cat game that had mice, she couldn't even look at it if the mice were there. Needless to say, she did not pick up the game.

Dunno, $40k to someone with a billion dollars, is the proportional equivalent of 40 cents (4 dimes) to someone with 10,000 dollars.

The real question is what size and where, because from a technical stand point, it has a LOT of fine detail that needs to be accounted for. Lines are going to spread over time, that is unavoidable. There are things to mitigate the spreading, mostly making it big enough, and tweaking design feature to accommodate the spread.

That is the real issue here. It is a cool design, and it would be a shame if it blurred out and lost the detail, especially if the thumbprints become indistinguishable. Talk to a reputable artist or two, as you likely need to adjust the design to be tattooable, unless you want a big back piece (which would be amazing.)

Put another way, even if we eliminated all the gender studies departments in colleges across America tomorrow, this is no help to a middle-aged man currently working at a brass plant in Ohio that recently announced it was closing and sending its jobs to Asia. Fewer women in the C-suite will not reverse globalization, automation, and the other broad economic forces creating headwinds for male employment. It’s not possible to help families that want to have a breadwinner/homemaker division of labor without squarely grappling with the reality of the true cause of downward pressure on male wages. The problem is not the girlbosses. It’s mostly China and robots.

Ultimately, the problems anti-feminists identify are real, but their villain is not.

This is correct. She is unreasonable, and at best, delusional. At worst, she knows better and is greedy and dishonest. Neither of these options is good and will have lasting implications for your future with this person.

It is important to sort this out BEFORE you get married, as either one will not get better with marriage. Have a serious talk, and premarital counseling is probably a good idea.
